Your Purpose

The Benelux Social Media Marketing Specialist is part of the Marketing & Communication team and is responsible for maximising visibility and engagement of MSC Cruises Benelux across all social platforms. This role develops, manages, and optimises the brand’s social media presence to grow audiences, strengthen brand positioning, and support sales objectives. With a strong focus on community management, content creation, and performance analysis, the Social Media Marketing Specialist ensures MSC Cruises delivers relevant and impactful communication to its audiences in line with corporate guidelines and local market needs.

Your Impact

Key Responsibilities:

Community Management & Engagement
• Lead daily community management (both proactive and reactive) across multiple platforms.
• Build strong relationships with followers, partners, and social media communities to increase brand loyalty.
• Support crisis communication through timely responses, translation, and content preparation when needed.

Social Media Strategy & Content Creation
• Develop, adapt, and execute the social media content calendar for Benelux based on corporate guidelines and local marketing objectives.
• Localize & create engaging, high-quality social content (text, visuals, short videos) tailored to different platforms.
• Coordinate production, translation, and distribution of creative assets in collaboration with internal teams and agencies.
• Support influencer campaigns, including coordination of partnerships, trips, and content delivery.
• Stay updated on social media trends, emerging platforms, and competitors’ activities to identify new opportunities.
• Stay connected and collaborate with the Corporate team to maximise locally led social media projects. 

Performance & Optimization
• Track, analyse, and report on key performance indicators (engagement, reach, conversions) to continuously improve results.
• Optimise campaigns and posts to maximise reach, engagement, and impact on bookings.
• Collaborate with internal marketing and e-commerce teams to align social media activities with broader campaigns.
• Monitor influencer activity and assess the ROI of influencer collaborations.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work
• Support on Post booking CRM campaigns (translation, checks, approvals)
• Liaise with the corporate social media team and regional colleagues to ensure alignment.
• Work closely with external agencies, content creators, and key opinion leaders.
• Remain flexible and open to additional ad hoc tasks and responsibilities.

Your Journey so far

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communication, Media, or similar.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a social media or digital marketing role; experience in tourism/hospitality is a plus.
• Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Emplifi, CreatorIQ, Meta Business Suite) and analytics platforms.
• Hands-on experience in community management across multiple platforms.
• Understanding paid social strategy (Facebook Ads, TikTok Ads, LinkedIn Ads) is a plus.
• Familiarity with influencer marketing and content co-creation.

Your Essentials

• Native/bilingual proficiency in Dutch and French; fluent in English (oral and written).
• Strong communication and storytelling skills with proven ability to write engaging copies.
• Basic graphic design or video-editing skills (e.g., Photoshop, Canva, Premiere Pro) is an advantage.
• Analytical mindset with ability to track KPIs, generate reports, and provide insights.
• Flexible, hands-on mentality, and strong ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Collaborative team player with intercultural competence.
• Must have the right to work in Belgium (Anderlecht), Belgian resident mandatory.
