Your Purpose
We are pleased to be hiring for a Catering Layout Specialist to join our growing Architecture & Design Department. The Catering Layout Specialist is responsible for developing, and optimizing the design of the front of house catering and service areas on board new ship concepts, including bars, pantries, waiter station, service station, and related food & beverage spaces. Working in close collaboration with the F&B, Culinary Operations, Technical, and Interior Design teams, the position ensures that all catering layouts are functional, efficient, and fully compliant with operational workflows, health and safety requirements, and international maritime and hospitality standards.
The role actively contributes to the integration of catering layouts within the overall ship concept design, managing inputs from external consultants, shipyards, and equipment suppliers, and reviewing design packages throughout the project lifecycle. It also supports plan approval activities, participates in design reviews and onboard inspections, and helps develop and maintain design standards and guidelines to ensure consistent quality and operational excellence across the fleet.
Your Impact
• Supports the F&B department to develop and define functional and efficient catering layouts for bar counters, pantries, galleys, and related service areas across all new concept design projects.
• Ensures all catering layouts comply with operational workflows, health & safety regulations, and international maritime or hospitality standards.
• Collaborates closely with the Culinary Operations, F&B, Technical, and Interior Design teams to integrate catering layouts within the broader project design.
• Analyses and interpret space constraints, equipment needs, and logistical requirements to optimize kitchen and service area design.
• Coordinates with external consultants, shipyards, and equipment suppliers to validate layout proposals and technical requirements.
• Reviews and adjust layouts based on operational feedback, new regulations, or design evolution throughout the project lifecycle.
• Supports the Plan Approval process reviewing Yard/Contractors drawings
• Participates in cross-functional design review meetings and contribute to the development of design standards and guidelines.
• Contributes to USPHS inspection on board and cooperates with the team in the yard for the proper delivery of the ship.
Your Journey so far
• Minimum 1-3year experience working in catering development is preferred.
• Demonstrable strong 2D skills using AutoCAD / MicroStation / Rhino / Sketchup or similar.
• Fluent in communicating through multiple channels including presentations, reports, and documentation.
• Availability to travel as when required.
• Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, product datasheets, and supplier specifications
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within international, multidisciplinary teams
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
