Your Purpose
The Port Operations Manager supports the activities of both the Vice President Ports Operations and the Port Operations Director for what concerns the MSC Contemporary vessels, overseeing port operation/nautical aspects of the fleet.
Your Impact
• Port Operational Support to the MSC Contemporary fleet daily.
• Attend Port Inspections of new ports/developments along with associated nautical reports/risk assessments.
• Attend on-site inspections with relevant departments in preparation of new/upcoming regional cruise seasons for MSC Contemporary vessels.
• Briefing MSC Contemporary Masters and Staff Captains during office visits/onboard trips to prepare them for their upcoming operations regarding Port Operations aspects.
• Check all tidal/daylight and channels restrictions for the MSC Contemporary fleet and informs itinerary committee.
• Stakeholder (3rd responder) for Port Operations Department in the Emergency Group Shore (EGA) team regarding.
• Supports the Port Captain to look after all navigation suitability simulations/mooring analysis globally in relation to port of call, and complete relevant reports + make recommendations.
• Responsible for all content contained in the berth facility database regarding vessel positions for MSC vessels.
Your Journey so far
• Fluent English (knowledge or Italian and other European languages is preferred but not essential).
• Professional Title of Chief Officer unlimited license (or equivalent).
• Minimum 5-year experience as Navigation Officer on cruise vessels.
• Good Knowledge of both nautical charts, sailing directions and electronic chart systems.
• Computer literacy with proficient knowledge of basic systems.
• Flexibility, adaptability and team working.
• Availability to travel often and with a short notice.
