Your Purpose
We are pleased to be hiring for a Bridge and Nautical Equipment Specialist to join our growing site team. In this role, you will oversee the installation of all Navigational Bridge Equipment during vessel construction, ensuring proper supervision, testing, and final acceptance of systems through to vessel delivery. You will also support critical activities within the Deck and Safety Department, including the supervision and acceptance of safety equipment and systems such as lifesaving appliances, fire-fighting systems, fire protection equipment, and related devices. In addition, you will provide support in the review and approval of technical drawings. Following vessel delivery, you will manage navigational bridge equipment guarantee claims, coordinating with shipyards and suppliers to ensure timely resolution. As a discipline leader, you will act as the primary point of reference for all related matters involving Fleet Operations, the Bridge Department, the Manager of Ship’s Construction, shipyards, and equipment suppliers.
Your Impact
• Oversees the installation of the Bridge equipment and Safety related equipment installed on the Bridge as per approved drawing and International and Company regulation.
• Participates in the Manufacturer FATs and provides feedback to the technical and on-site departments.
• Monitors the daily work of contractors on board the vessel to address issues identified during official inspection rounds and patrols.
• Supervises the installation of all equipment to ensure compliance with contractual documents, the project schedule, and the vessel’s master plan.
• Possesses thorough knowledge of the contractual documents, relevant specifications, and the main scope of work.
• Provides periodic technical reports and weekly updates to the Head of Shipbuilding and the Director of Site Offices.
• Ensures that all bridge and nautical equipment and systems are safe to operate, installed according to manufacturers’ specifications, and provide reasonable access for future maintenance and repair.
• Acts proactively to ensure that remarks, defects, and other non-conformities identified from past projects or operational vessels are addressed by the builder and tracked throughout the inspection and commissioning process.
• Follows up on, coordinates, and supervises Bridge Equipment Guarantee claims after ship delivery.
• Participates in workshops with the relevant technical departments to discuss, evaluate, and optimize the arrangement design and installation of new or retrofitted vessels.
• Supervises the installation and delivery/acceptance of insulation, piping (mainly water-mist and fire-fighting), main doors, and main side doors.
• Provides support to the Marine, Safety, and Structure departments on critical topics.
Your Journey so far
• Bridge or Safety Officers are preferred; previous working experience on Bridge equipment installation or Master License with experience on Cruise Vessels;
• Significant experience running inspections in shipyards for bridge, nautical and/or marine safety activities
• Technical knowledge of the Bridge Equipment (such as but not limited to: INS, Fire System, SMCS, GMDSS and Radio equipment, VDR, Steering and Propulsion control, Internal Communication system);
• Ability to review new building specifications and drawings;
• Proficiency with the use of Microsoft Office (including Excel, MS Word, MS Project or equivalent and PowerPoint);
• Ability to work in a cross cultural environment and communicate with internal/external stakeholders at all level;

• Right to work in Italy and to travel within the EU
• Fluency in English, knowledge of Italian is a plus
