Your Purpose

The Digital Storyteller is responsible for capturing, creating, and sharing compelling visual and written content that brings the Ocean Cay experience to life. This role will document daily island operations, sustainability initiatives, employee life, guest experiences, and special events through photography, videography, and digital storytelling across internal and external platforms.

Living and working onsite, the Digital Storyteller will serve as the creative voice of Ocean Cay, producing authentic, high-quality content that reflects the island’s culture, values, and operational excellence.

Your Impact

Content Creation & Storytelling

• Capture high-quality photos and videos that showcase Ocean Cay’s people, environment, operations, and experiences.
• Develop engaging digital stories that highlight sustainability efforts, marine conservation, island life, and behind-the-scenes operations.

• Conduct interviews and feature employees, leaders, and special projects through visual and written narratives.

Photography & Videography

• Film and edit short-form and long-form video content for digital platforms.
• Photograph events, daily activities, training sessions, and key milestones.
• Ensure all content aligns with brand standards and visual identity guidelines.
• Editing & Post-Production
• Edit photos and videos using industry-standard tools to produce polished, professional content.
• Manage content libraries, archives, and digital assets.
• Optimize content formats for various digital platforms.
• Collaboration & Planning
• Work closely with Communications, HR, Sustainability, Marketing, and Operations teams to identify storytelling opportunities.
• Support internal campaigns such as employee engagement, recruitment, training, and corporate communications.
• Assist with content planning calendars and campaign execution.

Brand, Compliance & Ethics

• Ensure all content complies with company policies, privacy guidelines, and brand standards.
• Obtain necessary approvals and releases when required.
• Promote Ocean Cay’s values, culture, and commitment to sustainability through responsible storytelling.

Your Journey so far

Education:

• Degree or certification in Digital Media, Communications, Journalism, Film, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in digital storytelling, content creation, photography, or videography.
• Experience in hospitality, travel, marine, environmental, or remote-site settings is an asset.
• Demonstrated portfolio showcasing storytelling, photography, and video work.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in photography and videography equipment.
• Strong editing skills using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Lightroom, Photoshop, After Effects) or equivalent.
• Understanding of social media and digital content best practices.

• This is a residential role, requiring the employee to live and work on Ocean Cay.
• The role involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
