Your Purpose

As a CCTV Operator on board, you play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for guests, crew, and the vessel. You are responsible for monitoring the ship’s CCTV systems, identifying unusual or suspicious activity, and providing timely information to support the Security Management Team.

You will conduct continuous surveillance of key areas, assist with incident response, and support investigations by retrieving and reviewing footage in accordance with company procedures and data protection standards. Your vigilance strengthens onboard situational awareness and supports effective security operations.

Your Impact

Your role is essential in supporting the ship’s overall security by ensuring accurate and continuous monitoring of CCTV systems. Through your attention to detail and focus, you help detect risks early, support incident response, and maintain a secure onboard environment.

Your professionalism and reliability contribute to MSC’s strong safety culture, reinforcing the protection of guests, crew, and shipboard operations while supporting the Security Team in maintaining the highest security standards.

Your Journey So Far

We are looking for someone who has:

• Fluency in English at minimum B2 level
• Completion of all mandatory STCW certifications, including PDSD
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Ability to successfully complete the MSC Security Familiarisation Programme
• Strong observational skills and the ability to remain focused for extended periods
• High levels of integrity, discretion, and respect for confidentiality
• Ability to remain calm, objective, and analytical during incidents
• Professionalism, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility

Previous experience in military, law enforcement, security operations, or CCTV monitoring, including experience on ISPS-compliant vessels, will be considered an advantage.

Career Pathway Requirement

All new joiners initially embark as Security Guards and, upon meeting the required qualifications and performance standards, may progress into the CCTV Operator role.

• Strong situational awareness and the ability to accurately interpret CCTV activity
• Ability to work independently for extended periods while maintaining high levels of concentration
• Commitment to accurate reporting, documentation, and compliance with procedures
• Professional attitude and ability to work collaboratively with the onboard Security Team
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multinational environment
• Strong sense of responsibility, professionalism, and commitment to maintaining a safe and secure environment
