IT Senior

Your Purpose

An exciting opportunity exists for a world class IT Senior System Manager to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys”. The IT Senior System Manager works in collaboration with all departments and shoreside personnel to assure the operation and maintenance of the revenue and guest tracking systems. The position requires the IT Senior System Manager and staff to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in case of emergency, and at regular hours in normal conditions. Generally speaking, the IT Senior System Manager is responsible for the continuous operation of the whole computerized system on board.

Your Impact

• Ensure that the Guest services are fully functional and operational.

• Manage the integrity and operation of the ship’s information technology (IT) systems and networks, including the PMS (Otalio) and cashless systems by performing the 1st, 2nd level support for the onboard users and engage if necessary, vendor or shoreside 3rd level support. 

• Manage the integrity and operation of operational technology (OT) systems and control systems on board, including their associated networks. 

• Manage the integrity of all network (wired, wifi, satellite) and stand-alone computers and peripherals on board.

• Ensuring cyber security of the ship’s IT and OT systems in collaboration with shoreside resources and 3rd party suppliers.

 • Oversee the integrity of all data, including (but not limited to) backing up of all files, Passenger lists, cash accounts).

Your Journey So Far

• Experience as an IT or Systems Manager, programmer, or supervisor in an IT, OT or network management role. 

• Experience with Fidelio Cruise or similar PMS/cashless system for onboard operations.

• Minimum High school graduate.

• An Associate Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. 

• Wide detailed experience and knowledge of systems/programs including point-of-sales, UNIX, MS Office, Windows (desktop and server), Active Directory; locker doors, backup systems, troubleshooting and repairs of PC, printers and associated hardware. 

• Solid experience with TCP/IP based networks including switching, routing and basic firewall technology.

• Skills to quickly assess and investigate incidents and make quick and correct decisions under pressure.

• Sound supervisory skills.

• Practical Cyber Security experience is desirable, but awareness of Cyber Security and Cyber Risk Management process in operation from Ship to shore is necessary.
