Your Purpose

An exciting opportunity exists for a world class Lead Nurse to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys” to ensure customer focused, high quality care is provided for all those attending the ship’s Medical Centre.Explora Journeys is a vibrant, cosmopolitan, European luxury brand, imagined in the heart of Swiss Hospitality and luxury in Geneva. Leveraging our parent company MSC Group`s hundreds of years of maritime expertise, our fleet of four ships (currently in the pipeline) are being built and designed in a totally different and unique way that will transform and redefine the cruise experience, creating a category of its own, appealing to the next generation of luxury travelers. 

Your Impact

Work with the Lead Doctor and shoreside medical operations to ensure that onboard clinical governance processes regarding quality and safety of care are fully implemented. Ensure all guests and crew who visit the Medical Centre are attended to in a timely manner and treated with respect.  Collaborate with shipboard and shoreside stakeholders wherever necessary to ensure an excellent customer experience.Ensure accurate medical billing, respond to customer complaints, and implement service recovery strategies.Ensure the nursing team documents accurate and complete electronic healthcare records in SeaCare, always adhering to medical and personal data protection laws. Manage the medication and supplies inventory and implement effective monitoring systems to ensure safe dispensing and administration of drugs.Ensure the safe and efficient management of medical equipment.Ensure that required checks are completed within deadlines, and report deficiencies to shoreside corporate medical services as needed.  Ensure that the Medical Centre always remains a safe and clean environment for guests and crew. Take responsibility for compliance with infection prevention and control policies and procedures.Identify and respond to training needs of nursing and other ships staff when required.In consultation with the Lead Doctor, complete the appraisal process for nurses.

Your Journey So Far

University Degree in Nursing with at least 5 years of post-graduate / post-registration experienceHold current full registration and a license to practice Previous maritime medicine experience onboard  international cruise ships.Proficient in English.  Any additional languages, particularly European languages, are considered an advantage.Standard of Training Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) and all other certification and documentation in force at the time of your contract.
