Your Purpose
Join MSC Cruise Management in our Genoa office as a Junior Engine Superintendent, supporting the daily operations of the Engine Department across our fleet. You will work closely with onboard and shore-based teams while assisting in the management of the Company’s Asset Management systems, helping to ensure efficient maintenance, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a marine or mechanical engineering background who is eager to develop their technical skills within a global, fast-paced environment.
Your Impact
- Manage the new item encoding requests coming both from the ship and/or the office in liaise with Asset Management team;
- Manage the new equipment encoding requests coming both from the ship and/or the office in liaise with Asset Management team;
- Support the ship’s superintendents on the control of the planning and execution of the PMS (Planned Maintenance System) together with the control that the maintenance costs are managed in accordance with agreed accountable budgets and in accordance with financial approvals;
- Prepare and dispatch the reports (performances, maintenance, costs, shipments, quality assurance, etc.) across the department and the whole organization;
- Coordinate, together with the ship’s superintendents, the training regarding the Asset Management software system towards Crew members and office employees.
- Support the ship’s superintendents in approving requests and purchase orders, on their behalf, during their out of office periods (such as ship’s surveys, dry-docks, holidays and so on).
Your Journey so far
- Minimum of one (1) year’s experience as a Superintendent or sailing as a 1st or 2nd Engineer onboard cruise ships
- Good working knowledge of shipping and environmental regulations, including class requirements (e.g. Bureau Veritas, RINA) is advantageous
- Familiarity with Asset Management systems such as AMOS, InfoSHIP, or Shipsure is a plus
- Strong ability to plan, organise, delegate, and effectively manage work processes
Your Essentials
- Strong English language skills are required; additional languages are considered an advantage
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering (or equivalent)
- Minimum of one (1) year’s experience as a Superintendent or as a 1st or 2nd Engineer onboard cruise ships
- Availability to work full-time, five days per week, from the Genoa office (Le Torri)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and Access
