Job Purpose

The role is aimed at supporting the translation of MSC's AI strategy into valuable solutions enabled by scalable architectures, structured processes and a sound governance across the Cruise Division. 

Key Accountabilities

  • Translate MSC's AI technology strategy into reference architectures, standards and implementation roadmaps. 
  • Design reusable, governed and secure AI/GenAI architecture patterns aligned with the Sail-as-One operating model. 
  • Define AI platform building blocks and data/model governance guardrails to ensure responsible, compliant and ethical AI. 
  • Support the adoption and enablement of internal AI tools (e.g. Microsoft Copilot, GitHub Copilot) across the organization, promoting effective and responsible use. 
  • Manage the AI ideas evaluation funnel, assessing and prioritizing use cases by value, feasibility and risk to guide investment decisions. 
  • Drive technology scouting, monitoring the AI market, vendors and emerging solutions to inform MSC's AI roadmap and architecture evolution. 
  • Evaluate and select AI/ML services, foundation models and tooling, balancing innovation, cost and risk. 
  • Partner with product, data and delivery teams to embed AI capabilities into enterprise solutions and review High-Level Designs (HLD). 
  • Drive the technology evolution of applications through AI-enabled modernization and automation. 
  • Promote AI architecture reuse, reference patterns and enablement across the AI Chapter and the wider EA community. 

Requirements

  • English and Italian as primary working languages. 
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business innovation or related fields; AI/ML or cloud certification strongly preferred. 
  • 5+ years of experience in business innovation, solution / AI architecture or applied ML/AI engineering, including hands-on design of AI-enabled solutions and the definition of standards or reference architectures. 
  • Experience in complex, multi-divisional enterprise environments. 
  • Strong technical skills across cloud AI platforms (Azure AI / Azure OpenAI preferred; AWS/GCP AI), GenAI/LLM and RAG patterns, ML frameworks, data platforms and architecture modelling tools. 
  • Strategic and systems thinking, with the ability to connect business strategy to technology decisions. 
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, stakeholders, partners and vendors. 
  • Responsible-AI and de-risking mindset. 
  • Collaboration and knowledge-sharing across chapters and communities of practice. 
  • Exposure to AI governance or regulatory regimes such as the EU AI Act will be considered an advantage. 
  • Experience taking AI/GenAI solutions from prototype to production will be considered an advantage. 
  • Background in travel, hospitality or another large-scale consumer business will be considered an advantage.

In compliance with the applicable pay transparency legislation, the following information is provided regarding the initial compensation foreseen for the position.


Contract 
-    Type of contract: Permanent
-    Hybrid working model: 2 days per week remotely
-    Applicable Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL): “Addetti agli uffici ed ai terminals delle società di navigazione che esercitano l’armamento privato” – sez. personale di terra
-    Gross annual salary (RAL): between €45.000 – €52.000 gross per year, paid over 14 monthly installments
-    Meal vouchers: worth €8 per on-site working day
The offer in terms of salary will be determined based on the candidate’s professional experience, technical competencies, and the level of autonomy and responsibility assigned to the role.
