Your Purpose
MSC Cruises, the world’s third largest cruise line brand is expanding its Human Resources team in the USA. Reporting to the Director, HR Operations, the HR Generalist will support our growing North America business. This role serves as a trusted partner to leaders and employees across MSC Cruises and Explora Journeys, delivering an exceptional employee experience while supporting key HR operations, employee relations, compliance, and organizational initiatives.
This role partners closely with HR leadership, Finance, Legal, Payroll, and business leaders to ensure responsive, high-quality HR support that aligns with organizational goals, company culture, and business objectives.
This is a hybrid position requiring employees to work from the Miami office four days per week (Monday through Thursday), with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
Your Impact
- Serve as a first point of contact for team member and manager HR inquiries.
- Provide guidance on company policies, procedures, and employment practices.
- Support employee relations matters by conducting investigations, documenting findings, and partnering with leaders to resolve workplace concerns.
- Partner with managers on performance management, coaching, employee development, and corrective action while ensuring the consistent application of company policies and employment practices.
- Champion a positive employee experience by partnering with leaders to foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture.
- Coordinate and facilitate onboarding and orientation activities to ensure a seamless new hire experience.
- Support internal mobility, promotions, transfers, and organizational changes.
- Conduct exit interviews and identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate employee records and ensure data integrity within HR systems through regular audits and timely updates.
- Assist with audits, reporting requirements, and policy administration.
- Support leave administration processes, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other employee leave programs.
- Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports, including headcount, turnover, retention, and employee relations trends.
- Assist with maintaining HR dashboards and scorecards.
- Participate in cross-functional HR initiatives, process improvements, and the implementation of new HR programs, policies, and systems.
- Identify opportunities to improve HR processes, employee experience, and operational efficiency.
- Support organizational change initiatives, including workforce planning, reorganizations, and change management activities, as needed.
Your Journey so far
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience, preferably within a global, matrixed, or highly regulated organization.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, compliance, onboarding, and leave administration, with experience supporting a multi-state workforce preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret HR data and provide actionable insights.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility across all levels of the organization.
- Experience administering and maintaining HRIS platforms, including system ownership, data integrity, user support, and process optimization. Experience with ADP and/or SAP SuccessFactors strongly preferred.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, process-driven, and customer-focused.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing business needs while managing competing priorities.
- SPHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent HR certification is preferred.
