Your Purpose

MSC Cruises is hiring an IT Manager for the private island reserve, Ocean Cay, Bahamas.  This position is based on the island, with staff accommodation provided.  

Your Impact

• Support the seamless implementation, update and maintenance of the MSC IT processes and function for Ocean Cay.
• Support the dedicated end-to-end ship-to-shore technologies when the ship is docked at OC.
• Troubleshoot and respond to outages or other failures, including day-of embarkation and/or disembarkation.
• Assist IT Management in planning for contingency plans for the island.
• Assist IT and Business management with collecting requirements for the implementation of desired IT service programs, including crisis recovery programs.
• Ensure there is seamless communication between IT Operations, Ocean Cay Operations and the ship operations, especially in cases which effect the ship’s arrival/departure time.
• Collaborate to maintain close and positive relationships with vendors supporting infrastructure, hardware and networks for OC.
• Provide reports to IT management on facility preparedness and viability to support IT services.
• Report to senior IT management all current IT operations status through regular real time communication and by issuing periodic reports.
• Collaborate with the Implementation and proper management of the documentation for internal processes.

Your Journey so far

• Microsoft and/or Linux, Security+, Network+, CISCO CCNA or similar certification is needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related major from a public or accredited private academic institution required.
• Bachelors
• Experience in cruise or hospitality operations preferred.
• Basic knowledge of ship-to-shore networks; IT infrastructure / networking;  
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory Domains.
• Some knowledge of IT monitoring tools.
• Knowledge of network infrastructure, topology, and back-end architecture.
• Ability to always keep the island’s network & wi-fi infrastructure online, including knowledge of redundancies.
• Knowledge in PC and MAC hardware, peripherals, software and OS.
• Experienced in the triage of office application issues, to include Office365 suite and other productivity tools
• Able to live on the island for specific periods of times
• Flexbile scheduling to accommodate ship operations on weekends / off hours.
