Description

The Beauty Therapist is responsible for ensuring that all guests receive beauty, skincare, and body treatments and services in accordance with the Gold Standards and the Spa SOP protocols. Beauty treatments include, but are not limited to, facial treatments, advanced skincare services, manicures, pedicures, waxing and hair removal, brow and lash services, makeup application, and the body scrubs, wraps, and rituals outlined in the Spa and Wellness Menu. Where certified to do so, the Beauty Therapist may also provide remedial, relaxation, and signature massage treatments from the Spa and Wellness Menu. All treatments are delivered only after successful completion of brand training, and every service is personalized to the guest through a thorough consultation, expert product knowledge, and confident aftercare guidance that extends the Spa experience beyond the treatment room.

Essential Duties

• Provides facial, skincare, nail, waxing, brow and lash, makeup, and body treatments from the Spa and Wellness Menu for guests onboard in accordance with the company’s standards, and provides massage treatments where certified to do so.
• Possesses thorough knowledge of the Spa and Wellness Menu and retail products to assist guests by providing information and recommendations on all products and services within the Spa and Wellness facilities.
• Conducts a thorough health and skincare consultation prior to each service to deliver a personalized experience for each guest.  Confirms contra-indications, allergies, sensitivities, or any other health- or skin-related conditions prior to providing each service, and adapts or declines a treatment when it is not safe or appropriate to proceed. 
• Performs a patch test where required by product or treatment protocol, and maintains accurate and confidential consultation records for each guest in accordance with the Spa SOP protocols. 
• Provides confident post-treatment care and home-care recommendations, and supports guests within the retail area to select the products best suited to their skin and beauty needs. 
• Achieves individual and group targets in treatment and retail sales as required, and promotes spa treatments, products, packages, special promotions, and events with a luxury approach to sales. 
• Stays informed of the latest skincare, beauty, and wellness trends, techniques, and products within the luxury industry. 
• Ensures confidentiality and discretion are maintained at all times regarding guest information and activities. 
• Responds to issues or problems immediately and efficiently, involving relevant Ladies and Gentlemen as required, and reports any challenges, complaints, or service difficulties to the Assistant Spa Manager or Spa Manager. 
• Assists with Spa reception duties when required, including but not limited to guest check-in and check-out, inquiries, bookings, general reception duties, and assisting with maintaining the Spa and Wellness facility. 
• Ensures the treatment rooms, nail stations, and Spa and Wellness areas are fully operational and replenished as per brand standards, and clean, tidy, and safe at all times. 
• Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes work areas as well as all tools, implements, and equipment following the public health and safety standards, and uses single-use items where required. 
• Ensures adherence and compliance with all Public Health, safety, and environmental regulations, and all guidelines established by The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection. 
• Monitors the status of all spa equipment, tools, and the venue, and immediately notifies the Spa Manager if any maintenance or repair is required. 
• Ensures the Spa Manager is informed about professional and retail stock levels, and leads by example when it comes to product usage and cost control procedures. 
• Participates in daily Line-Up, brand and product training, and safety drills as required, and supports fellow Ladies and Gentlemen of the Spa and Wellness team to deliver a seamless guest experience. 

Qualifications

• Valid Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and flag certification for the duration of the contract and appropriate to the position. 
• Internationally accredited Diploma or Certification in Beauty Therapy or Aesthetics from a recognized facility, covering facial and skincare treatments, nail services, and hair removal. 
• ITEC, CIBTAC, CIDESCO, or NVQ Diploma / Certification is preferred. 
• An internationally accredited Diploma or Certification in Massage Therapy is preferred and is required to perform massage treatments onboard. 
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working as a Beauty Therapist / Aesthetician in a luxury facility. 
• Superior knowledge and experience in Spa and luxury hotels and/or the luxury cruise industry preferred. 
• Excellent knowledge of anatomy, physiology, skin analysis, and skincare, with the ability to identify contra-indications and adapt treatments accordingly. 
• Proven expertise in facial and advanced skincare treatments, manicure and pedicure services, waxing, brow and lash services, and makeup application. 
• Strong, primary focus on health, wellness, and beauty with the ability to recommend and confidently talk about guest requirements. 
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills; friendly, polished, and approachable. 
• Excellent team player with retail sales experience and a luxury approach to sales. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the Lady or Gentleman is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The Lady or Gentleman must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs, as well as full visual, verbal, and hearing abilities, are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency, including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds.

COMMUNICATION
All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be able to communicate in the English language in order to understand and interpret written procedures.
