Job Purpose

The HR IT Systems team supports the technology landscape enabling HR processes for MSC's onboard workforce, ensuring the reliability, integration, and continuous improvement of applications and data flows across the employee lifecycle.
The HRIS Business Analyst is responsible for the evolution and operational stability of the Custom HRIS Application Portfolio supporting Onboard personnel, ensuring that system functionalities, integrations and data flows effectively support the related HR processes. 
The role also coordinates external consulting resources, manages the application backlog, and drives continuous improvement initiatives through Agile delivery methodologies.

Key Accountabilities

•    Analyze Onboard HR requirements and translate them into clear functional specifications, user stories and acceptance criteria. 
•    Act as the functional IT reference point for the Custom Applications supporting the HR processes of Onboard personnel. 
•    Coordinate the External Consulting team responsible for application development, maintenance and technical support, monitoring deliverables, timelines and service quality, following Agile practices.
•    Manage and prioritize the application backlog in collaboration with HR stakeholders, internal IT teams and the external development partner. 
•    Oversee the maintenance and continuous improvement of the application portfolio, ensuring that enhancements and corrective actions remain aligned with business priorities and the wider HR technology landscape. 
•    Coordinate the delivery of enhancements, fixes, integrations and system changes, managing dependencies across the different applications within the portfolio. 
•    Support the functional analysis of integrations between the custom applications and connected systems through the maintenance of application roadmaps.

Qualifications

•    2+ years of experience in IT Business Analysis, Application Management, Software Delivery or a comparable role involving custom business applications. 
•    Proven experience coordinating external IT vendors, consulting partners or software development teams. 
•    Practical experience working with Agile methodologies, including backlog management, user-story definition, prioritization and sprint-based delivery. 
•    Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into structured functional specifications and acceptance criteria. 
•    Good understanding of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, development, testing, release and production support. 
•    Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to coordinate business stakeholders, internal IT teams and external suppliers. 
•    Structured and solution-oriented mindset, with attention to detail, ownership and the ability to manage multiple applications and priorities in a changing environment. 
•    Previous experience with HR information systems, Onboard personnel processes or workforce-intensive industries such as maritime, tourism or hospitality is strongly recommended.
•    Fluent English and Italian languages are required. 
•    Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence or comparable backlog, ticketing and documentation platforms is an advantage. 
•    Previous programming experience or technical knowledge of databases, SQL, APIs and system integrations is considered an advantage.

In compliance with the applicable pay transparency legislation, the following information is provided regarding the initial compensation foreseen for the position.

Contract 
•    Type of contract: Permanent
•    Hybrid working model: 2 days per week remotely
•    Applicable Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL): “Addetti agli uffici ed ai terminals delle società di navigazione che esercitano l’armamento privato” – sez. personale di terra
•    Gross annual salary (RAL): between €35.000 – €42.000 gross per year, paid over 14 monthly installments
•    Meal vouchers: worth €8 per on-site working day
The offer in terms of salary will be determined based on the candidate’s professional experience, technical competencies, and the level of autonomy and responsibility assigned to the role.
