Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Customer Data & Identity Technical Senior Lead to drive the technical evolution of the Customer Master Data Management and Identity platform and lead the internal technical delivery team.
The Customer Data & Identity Technical Senior Lead is accountable for translating business and product priorities into scalable, secure and maintainable technical solutions. The role defines and governs solution architecture across customer identity, master data management, data platforms, APIs and enterprise integrations, ensuring alignment with the Customer Data & Identity target architecture and enterprise technology standards.
Working closely with Customer Data & Identity, CRM, data & analytics, enterprise architecture, security, infrastructure and delivery partners, the Technical Lead provides end-to-end technical direction from solution design through implementation and production release. The role leads the internal delivery team, coordinates external vendors and supports reliable platform operations, while balancing business value, delivery speed, cost, quality and long-term maintainability.

The role is based in Naples and requires occasional travel to Geneva (CH) and other companies or partner locations as needed.

Key Accountabilities

  • Own the technical direction and evolution of the Customer Data & Identity platform, maintaining a coherent target architecture and a pragmatic technology roadmap aligned with business and product priorities;
  • Lead, coach and coordinate the internal technical delivery team in Naples, setting engineering priorities, allocating work, removing blockers and promoting consistent delivery practices;
  • Design, review and approve end-to-end solution architectures for projects and change requests, covering customer data models, MDM, data platforms, APIs, event and batch integrations, security and operational requirements;
  • Act as the technical design authority for Customer Data & Identity, ensuring solutions comply with enterprise architecture, security, privacy, data governance, integration and non-functional standards before implementation and release;
  • Translate functional requirements into solution options and technical designs, clearly documenting decisions, assumptions, dependencies, trade-offs and risks for technical and business stakeholders;
  • Govern technical delivery across internal teams and external vendors, challenging design and implementation choices, validating estimates and deliverables, and approving technical documentation and release readiness;
  • Ensure engineering quality through architecture reviews, code and configuration quality controls, testing, performance validation, observability, deployment standards and production acceptance criteria;
  • Drive platform scalability, resilience and maintainability, including the systematic management of technical debt, obsolescence, performance bottlenecks and architectural risks;
  • Provide senior technical leadership for production incidents and root cause analysis, coordinating internal teams and Application Management partners and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture or technical delivery within complex enterprise data and integration environments, including experience in a technical leadership role;
  • Proven experience designing and governing customer data, MDM, identity resolution or customer data platform solutions; hands-on knowledge of Informatica Cloud MDM or a comparable enterprise MDM platform is strongly preferred;
  • Strong solution architecture expertise across data platforms, cloud services, Lakehouse/Data Warehouse architectures, APIs and integration patterns, with proven ability to design, review and govern technical solutions and architecture documentation;
  • Practical experience with Microsoft Azure data services, including Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Factory, or equivalent cloud data and orchestration technologies;
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams and coordinating internal and external stakeholders, with strong communication skills and the ability to articulate technical decisions, trade-offs and risks to both technical and business audiences;
  • Strong understanding of software engineering quality, CI/CD, testing, security by design, observability, performance, resilience and production-readiness controls;
  • Fluent in English and Italian;
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments, ideally within a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) model.

NICE TO HAVE

  • Knowledge of Salesforce CRM and its customer, integration and data model patterns;
  • Knowledge of Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Real-Time CDP or comparable customer engagement platforms;
  • Experience with Couchbase or other NoSQL database technologies and high-volume, low-latency customer data use cases;
  • Experience contributing to technology roadmaps, platform modernisation, vendor assessments or RFI/RFP technical evaluations;
  • Exposure to the travel, hospitality, cruise or leisure industry;
  • Experience with AI-enabled tools or solutions, including practical understanding of how artificial intelligence can support data management, automation, engineering productivity or customer data use cases.
