Your Purpose

Explora Journeys is a vibrant, cosmopolitan, European luxury brand, imagined in the heart of Swiss Hospitality and luxury in Geneva. Leveraging our parent company MSC Group's hundreds of years of maritime expertise, our fleet of six ships (three currently operating) are being built and designed in a different and unique way that will transform and redefine the cruise experience, creating a category of its own, appealing to the next generation of luxury travelers.

Additionally, Explora Journeys is setting out to redefine the luxury River Cruise sector, by bringing the “Ocean State of Mind” to Europe’s most iconic tributaries.

An exciting opportunity exists for a world class Destinations Experience Senior Manager - River to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys” who will be responsible for designing, launching and continually refining a portfolio of experiences across Explora Journey’s new River portfolio. The role is based in our Headquarters in Geneva.

Your Impact

• Responsible for the end to end ownership of all River destination experiences, land programs, pre- and post-cruise extensions, and all signature shoreside products from vision through implementation and operation.
• Solicit, evaluate and procure TOs, DMCs in specific destinations/areas in accordance with Explora Journeys standards including bidding process, comparative study and evaluation, and selection process
• Play a key role in itinerary development, including port selection, narrative development and presentation to influence internal alignment and executive approval
• Develop new destination experiences, across existing and yet to be developed product types, manage independently the full product creation, internal knowledge transfer to key stakeholders and system setup
• Responsible for financial performance of destination experience portfolio, requiring collaboration with revenue management and marketing on demand generation strategies, pricing, allocation and waitlist management, cost negotiation and margin control
• Follow up with different departments such as digital, marketing, business integration, IT to publish the experiences in all the systems (eg. Seaware, Otalio, PIM, Crunchtime)
• Work with Marketing on copywriting, image selection and all destination and product content creation to ensure products are compelling, distinguished and market ready
• Manage contracting, manuals, training for TOs, DMCs in specific areas
• Train onboard team, travel advisors and sales departments on product details, differentiation and value proposition
• HR support for hiring interviews and rotation of shipboard team
• Support EEC, onboard teams for DestEx inquiries and support onboard teams
• Responsible for competitive analysis and market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities for differentiation
• Monitor guest experience trends for all River destinations, providing feedback and recommended product adjustments to TOs/DMCs and any other relevant supplier for continual improvement purposes

Your Journey so far

• Bachelor Degree and/with extensive industry (tourism, cruise..) experience
• At least 10 years Shorex Experience onboard or on shore for a luxury River Cruise company

Your Essentials

• Multitasking and ability to cope with last minute demands and smooth coordination
• Strong negotiation and financial skills
• Ability to motivate and manage staff
• Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
• Preferences if knowledge of Seaware/Versonix, Otalio, Crunchtime
