This advanced course is essential for seafarers assigned to operate, launch, or command Fast Rescue Boats onboard. It meets STCW requirements for vessels equipped with FRBs—common on SOLAS ships, offshore support vessels, and many commercial operations.

Course Content:

• FRB Construction & Launch Systems
  Learn how fast rescue boats are built, maintained, and launched using standard onboard systems.

• Command & Handling at Sea
  Train to operate and command FRBs in a variety of sea states, including search and rescue scenarios and man-overboard recovery.

• Capsize Management & Recovery
  Practise righting a capsized FRB and safely re-boarding in dynamic conditions.

• Search Patterns & Casualty Recovery
  Use standard maritime search techniques and casualty retrieval protocols for water-to-vessel or helicopter transfers.

Training is delivered at our MCA-approved training facility in Phuket.

Entry Requirements

Minimum age: 18 years
Valid PSCRB (A-VI/2-1) certificate issued by a maritime authority from an IMO White List country

If PSCRB has expired, candidates must complete a PSCRB Updating Course (A-VI/2-1 Refresher) before enrolling

Good spoken and written English required (all training is conducted in English)
