Based in the UK, we now have an exciting opportunity for young talented people to join us an Apprentice within our Cunard and P&O Cruises vessels. As a market leader in the cruise industry, we operate spectacular ships all over the world. Join us as a Food and Beverage Apprentice and you’ll discover that working at sea is more than just a job; it’s a way of life. Joining us as an apprentice you will provide excellent customer service to guests and learn new skills within our wonderful restaurants and bars onboard.
What's involved?
Carnival UK is working in partnership with Hampshire based South Downs College to offer a unique experience of working onboard a fully functioning cruise ship and studying at college to gain a Level 3 qualification in a hospitality based field.
The course will run over 1 academic year and involve the following schedule:
September - December 2017 - Study at South Downs College
January - March 2018 - Working within F&B department on a Cunard or P&O Cruises vessel
April - June 2018 - Study at South Downs College
July - September 2018 - Working within F&B department on a Cunard or P&O Cruises vessel
During your time onboard our luxury vessels, you will learn 5* hospitality skills in Dining Service, Service Preparation and Bar Service whilst working in our speciality restaurants and main dining rooms.
After the course has ended , our top performing apprentices will be given the chance to join Carnival UK as a permanent member of our F&B Department

This exciting opportunity requires the following skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Keen interest in hospitality
- Leadership skills including excellent team working and organisational skills
- Some Food and beverage skills including customer service, barista training, customer service, food service and delivery.
- Excellent presentation and professional attitude
- Keen aspiration for career development within the hospitality sector
- Motivated by travel and excellent customer service
Qualifications required
To be involved in this amazing experience you will have to have the following:
- Either 9 months hospitality experience or,
- Level 2 Apprenticeship in Hospitality
