ROLE OVERVIEW

Part of our Galley team on our River vessels, the Sous Chef ensures outstanding food quality, support budget goals, create guest-oriented culture to increase revenue and profitability in Viking Cruises.. The Sous Chef reports to Executive Chef.    

 

WHAT YOU WILL DO ON BOARD 

  • Prepare and distribute daily meals for guests and crew 
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and cleanliness standards 
  • Assist with ordering food supplies within budget 
  • Supervise, train, and motivate galley team 
  • Conduct stock takes and inventory management 
  • Support Executive Chef in departmental meetings and onboard training programs

ABOUT YOU 

  • Culinary school graduation required, hospitality degree preferred 
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in upscale cruise or hotel industry, 1 year in similar position 
  • Fluent in English with excellent oral communication skills 
  • Maintains confidentiality and impeccable hygiene standards 
  • Flexible, team player, guest-focused with a positive and professional demeanor.
