Description

This hands-on position is responsible for the entire hotel store operation, receipt, internal distribution of goods and verification of data entries of daily distributions. Strictly following company policies and public health regulations this position contributes to the success of the onboard Hotel Operation and total guest satisfaction.

Essential Duties

  1. Manages the entire Provision team and assists HSM in the entire hotel stores operation and ensures goods necessary for the Hotel Operation of the Yacht are available in sufficient quantity and quality at all times. Assists and prepares the goods requested in the inventory system for distribution and records the goods distributed following the First In First Out (FIFO) concept where applicable
  2. Assists in overseeing and approving the daily internal distribution of goods in the hotel stores and ensures goods are distributed following the First In First Out (FIFO) concept where applicable
  3. Communicates potential shortages or excess inventory of goods to HSM and ensures that these variances do not negatively affect guest satisfaction, operational budgets, or storage procedures
  4. Manages the storing operations on board and at the pier and operates all necessary machinery and equipment provided by the company. Addresses variations of quality and/or quantity of deliveries with HSM and ensures that these variances do not negatively affect guest satisfaction, operational budgets, or storage procedures
  5. Enforces strict Public Health practices and follows United States Public Health (USPH) standards within the hotel stores including but not limited to cleaning and maintenance, temperature recording, store organization, self-inspections and Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
  6. Monitors cost and quality and consistently strives to reduce breakage and wastage. Supervises the hotel stores team to follow proper procedures when disposing of garbage
  7. Monitors maintenance requests for non-functional equipment and any other topics affecting the hotel stores operation and ensures are resolved in an acceptable timeframe and communicates delays to his supervisor and the department head responsible for resolving the problems
  8. Executes physical inventories and inventory spot checks with the hotel stores team and in cooperation with the Financial Officer as per the inventory schedule

People Management

  2. Ensures the Daily execution of Line-up in accordance with company standards and Brand Guidelines

  5. Demonstrates alignment with corporate strategies and initiatives while ensuring alignment throughout the yacht organization


Qualifications

  1. Valid Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and flag certification for the duration of the contract and appropriate to position
  2. Excellent knowledge and experience in Public Health rules and regulations related to United States Public Health (USPH) and Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP)
  3. Superior knowledge and experience of storeroom operation and procedures, as well as the handling of perishable goods
  4. Strong product knowledge of Food & Beverage, Consumables, Durables and Equipment items required to operate Hotel or Cruise catering operations
  5. Capable of operating inventory and property management systems in the capacity of a power user
  6. Strong knowledge of MS Office package or similar applications


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The Lady or Gentleman must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be physically able to participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • All Yacht Ladies and Gentlemen must be able to communicate in the English language in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
