Role Overview\u00A0
As part of our Mississippi Food & Beverage team, your job as an Assistant Chef de Partie / Sushi is to be the face of Viking in the refined dining and Japanese culinary experience we deliver to our guests onboard\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 You will be reporting to the Chef de Partie\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 You will be expected to work on a 10/3 rotation (10 weeks on board and 3 weeks off on vacation). Please note that rotation lenghts vary based on staffing and operational needs onboard Viking Mississippi\u00A0
Role Expectations\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 Ensure quality and presentation of sushi and sashimi during lunch and dinner; arrange items on an attractive display for our guests\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 Demonstrate excellent cooking skills and creativity to enhance buffet presentations\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 Ensure economical work practices and control food production to minimize wastage\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 Maintain food preparation and storage standards according to public health policies and company regulations\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 Be prepared to step-up and help other areas of culinary operations where needed\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 Enforce \u201Cclean as you go\u201D work habits and maintain impeccable cleanliness and hygiene in assigned areas\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 Uphold impeccable grooming standards at all times by complying with Viking\u2019s Image and Uniform Standards\u00A0

About you\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 2+ years' experience as a Sushi Chef or similar at a 5-Star hospitality and/or restaurant environment; shipboard experience is an advantage\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 ServSafe Certified, with previous experience in preparation and presentation of sushi, sashimi, and other dishes from the Japanese culinary\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 Guest-focused, service-oriented, positive personality, professional appearance and impeccable hygiene standards\u00A0
- \u00A0 \u00A0 Excellent knowledge of all public health policies, especially US Public Health and FDA Standards\u00A0

- \u00A0 \u00A0 Must be 21+ years old, physically fit and in good health to meet the demands of an intense shipboard role; must be able to carry heavy items and stand, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time\u00A0
