Your Purpose
We are looking for an experienced Program Manager (PMO) to join our busy and growing New Building department here at MSC Cruises. This is an excited opportunity whereby you will be providing business analytical guidance and strong governance support to the project management team of our ongoing Newbuild projects. This role manages all aspects of project planning, tracking, and status reporting.
This role will provide project management assistance to the project teams, supporting on issue identification through data analysis and communication.
You will work closely with both internal stakeholder across various departments including shoreside and shipboard and with External partners; including the shipyard, suppliers, technical and design consultancies. You will be independently gathering, analyzing and reporting on data to then present to the senior leaders within the business.
Our New Build Projects are typically top priority and multi-departmental initiatives for the organization and thus require continuous communication and interaction with the project management, onsite technical and design teams, shipyard, other internal and external partners.
Your Impact
- Project coordination and support for development, tracking/monitoring and reporting of several large size projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery of project outputs.
- Acting as project management’s analytical advisor through support in form of issue identification, objective analysis and communication of project areas and subsystems
- Iterative development of follow-up tools based on critical areas defined by project management or lessons learned from previous projects
- Adapting the work approach according to changing project priorities
- Conducting standardized, analytical and frequent reporting on newbuilding projects and developing required processing methods for communicating and visualizing project status to extended teams and executive management
- Identification and proactive search of data sources, together with shipyard/ suppliers. Consults with Project Director of Newbuilding as well as Brand operations to ascertain and define need or problem to obtain data required for solution.
- Developing tools to help shipyard/ suppliers in forward-looking planning
- Tracking total remaining work and project progress against milestone plan and timely completion Building simulations (projecting actual progress on the future)
- Establishing, driving, and leading regular meetings between involved parties (attendees, agenda, and official minutes) and drafting communications of project status based on pre-defined templates.
- Best practice definition and proactive sharing to other newbuilding projects and throughout the corporation
- Analyses data to determine solution such as implementation of alternate methods and procedures or changes in processing methods and practices.
- Performs vendor consultations/facilitations to monitor progress and ascertain and define any needs or problem areas and obtain solutions.
- Supports project teams in collection of quantitative/qualitative statistics, performs basic numerical analysis.
- Able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with little to no guidance.

- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to read, analyse and interpret contracts, technical specifications, financial reports, legal documents, and government regulations.
- Ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, co-workers, customers, vendors, shoreside and shipboard employees.
- Software: Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project required. Familiarity with email, internet applications and AutoCAD system considered as an advantage
- Flexibility and ability to work for and travel to the multiple Newbuild projects.
- Fluent English and other languages considered as an advantage.
- Technical studies considered as an advantage.
Your Essentials
- Bachelor degree or above with a concentration in Business Administration (MBA), Management Information Systems, or a closely related discipline (Management Science, Industrial or Process Engineering).
- 3-5 years expwreince working in a PMO function along with relevant work experience in business development, analytics, professional services, technology or finance.
