Your Purpose

As a Guest Experience Ambassador, you act as a cultural bridge for international guests, ensuring that those from minority language backgrounds feel welcomed, understood, and supported throughout their cruise. You provide personalized service and language assistance, creating a smooth, inclusive, and memorable experience on board. Your role contributes directly to guest satisfaction and reinforces MSC’s commitment to excellence in multicultural hospitality. 

Your Impact

You ensure guests from different cultural backgrounds can fully enjoy all aspects of the cruise by assisting them in their native language. You help deliver clear communication in daily interactions, safety procedures, and special events. You support Guest Services by addressing guest requests, resolving issues, and creating meaningful connections that enhance the overall cruise experience. 

Your Journey So Far

To exceed in this role, you need to have: 

  • Proven experience in a similar onboard position, or as an international host/hostess, cultural ambassador, or language support specialist. 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large guest groups, preferably with a multicultural focus. 
  • Experience supporting Guest Services operations or similar departments on board. 
  • Strong understanding of cruise operations, guest satisfaction standards, and MSC brand culture. 
  • High school diploma required; additional studies in tourism, communication, or hospitality are an asset. 

Your Essentials

To qualify for this position, you need to have: 

  • Fluency in spoken and written English (MSC’s working and safety language). 
  • Proficiency in at least three to four other major languages at CEFR Level C (examples: Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, etc.). 
  • Life or work experience in the country of the spoken language is considered essential for cultural accuracy and guest empathy. 
  • Passion for customer service, cultural exchange, and guest satisfaction. 
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills. 
  • Professional appearance, positive attitude, and the ability to remain calm and helpful under pressure.
