Your Purpose
The Housekeeping Services Manager is responsible for assisting the Director of Housekeeping Services in the daily overseeing and supporting all onboard Housekeeping operations across the fleet, ensuring consistency, excellence and compliance with Company Operational standards.
The role acts as the primary link between shipboard teams and shoreside department, providing operational guidance, follow-up, training and continuous improvement initiatives.
Your Impact
Operational Leadership
• Oversee day-to-day housekeeping operations across the fleet, ensuring compliance with SOPs, brand standards, and safety regulations.
• Review performance reports, KPIs, and guest satisfaction scores; implement corrective actions as needed.
• Coordinate fleet-wide implementation of new procedures, equipment, and productivity initiatives.
• Conduct ship visits, audits, and quality inspections in collaboration with travelling supervisors.
Standards & Training
• Maintain and update SOPs and training materials in alignment with the Housekeeping Manual.
• Support onboard coaching and leadership development; identify training needs and work with Learning & Development to deliver programs.
• Promote best practices and operational excellence across all ships.
Projects & Continuous Improvement
• Drive housekeeping improvement projects, product standardisation, and cost-optimisation initiatives.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain on linen, amenities, equipment, and chemical suppliers.
• Participate in newbuilds, refurbishments, and ship-opening processes.
Communication & Reporting
• Ensure strong communication between shipboard teams and shoreside leadership.
• Provide operational updates, analysis, and recommendations; prepare reports and presentations as required.
Talent Management
• Participate in recruitment for Housekeeping Management positions and support internal promotion strategies.
• Foster a positive work environment aligned with MSC workplace values.
Your Journey so far
- Extensive +10 Management Housekeeping Shipboard or Land base experience (Cruise industry preferably)
- Hotel Management School Diploma
Your Essentials
- Exceptional leadership and mentoring abilities in multicultural teams.
- Strong focus on operational excellence with a proactive problem-solving mindset
- Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and flexible, willing to travel at least 20% annually
- Capable of providing emotional and social support to the team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good standard of written and verbal: English, Italian and or French
