Chief Steward/ess

We are currently recruiting for a Chief Steward/ess vacancy, equivalent to Housekeeper, for a small luxury cruise line.

Rotation: 4 months on, 2 months off

Salary: $3,100 per month on-board

Start date: May 2013

The Job

• Most senior member of on-board Housekeeping team
• Responsible for delegating and supervising a team of 10 staff
• Due to small vessel, must be willing to help whenever necessary
• Report to Hotel Manager regularly
• Correspond with shore-side management
• Responsible for relevant stock control

The Candidate

• Must have experience as either Senior Stewardess or Asst. Housekeeper for a small cruise line, involving supervision of subordinates in the Housekeeping department
• Must speak, read and write English fluently
• A thorough knowledge of USPH standards is required
• Sufficient IT skills
• Natural leadership skills
• Outgoing and friendly personality, and willing to interact with guests
