  • Responsible for serving as an effective leader in any of the assigned cruise programs activities and recreation venues (Water Slides, Rope Courses, Wall Climbing and Bowling), ensuring that each event takes place safely and promptly as scheduled.
  • Ensures the daily opening and closing procedures for Water Slides, Rope Courses, Wall Climbing and Bowling following the standard operating and closing checklist.
  • Assists guests in fitting harnesses and helmets correctly and supervising the use of all safety equipment 
  • Sets routes on a regularly scheduled basis. Maintains all equipment, including but not limited to: cleaning of harnesses and holds, replacement and inspection of ropes, and minor maintenance and repairs to Wall Climbing and Rope Courses. Ensures safety checks including all necessary documentation.
  • Conducts weekly inspections of all rigging systems with special attention paid to safety systems and features and must be included in the outlets weekly report 
  • Each Senior Cruise Staff must have the ability to serve as an effective host for indoor and outdoor activities including events and functions using their personality, talents and language ability to engage audiences of all sizes.
  • Understands and enforces the guidelines for safe practices when guests are joining various activities and using recreational venues. If confrontation arises, he/she should be able to diffuse the situation and have the guest leave contented.
  • Requires to have very good customer service skills dealing with both adults and children that will be participating in activities and events held in all recreational venues.
  • The Senior Cruise Staff must assist in all capacities in achieving the revenue budget of the department by selling and promoting the shows, ticket games and other revenue generating activities.
  • Each Senior Cruise Staff must have the ability to work as a team member in cooperation with other Cruise Department members, as well as with all other shipboard departments.
  • Each Senior Cruise Staff must effectively practice proper time management to prepare, execute and break down set ups and venues for assigned activities and events.
  • Each Senior Cruise Staff is expected to be proactive and creative in relation to programming to maintain and/or increase guest satisfaction. Must be able to provide quality service and be able to enhance the experience for guests onboard.
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution for our guests are the direct responsibility of the Cruise Staff following shipboard guidelines and under the direction of management.
  • Observes carefully the operation of events that happen on the corresponding recreation venue and should any incident occur, report this to the Senior Cruise Staff Supervisor or Assistant Cruise Director immediately.
  • Be responsible of all equipment used to perform the role. In addition needs to report to Cruise Supervisor on a daily basis on any equipment malfunctions or problems.
  • Ensures waivers are signed before guest participates in any organized event on the corresponding recreation venue. Files away completed waivers for record purposes during their work period.
  • Provides daily feedback to the Senior Cruise Staff Supervisor of events that occurred that may need further attention or guest follow up.
  • Meet & Greet guests upon embarkation and disembarkation.
  • Attends door greets, welcomes guests entering and exiting the theatre for evening shows and socializes with the guests.
  • Each Senior Cruise Staff members will be scheduled to assist with Box Office Operations.
  • Observes proper decorum and carries a personable appearance at all times.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • The Senior Cruise Staff will carry out any other duty which may be reasonably be requested by Recreational Manager, Assistant Cruise Director or Cruise Director.

Qualifications

  1. At least 1 year experience in a hotel, resort, theme park with background in rigging, wall climbing and high ropes courses.
  2. With exposures in events coordination and hosting
  3. Have a good English command
  4. Basic Rope Course Certificate.
  5. Intermediate verbal skills in any other language is preferred based on operational requirement
  6. Basic knowledge in using Microsoft Office Word and Excel is required.
