Summary:

Works under the supervision of the Manager of Fleet Planning to execute all aspects associated with onboard crew staffing and crew rotation

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • This is a Seattle based position. The person in this role must live in the Seattle area and be able to work in the United States.   
  • Responsible for maintaining rotation schedules and communicated to vessels, manning agents and traveling/corporate managers.
  • Analyze current crew rotations and staffing needs to ensure vacancies are communicated to appropriate manning agencies for recruitment.  
  • Monitors and communicates with HR Manager regarding all unscheduled crew moves and crew rotation issues.
  • Ensures all crew travel is processed within compliance of the Crew Travel Policy.
  • Liaison between the Vessels, Crew Travel and Manning Agencies with regards to crew air, ground transportation, hotel, visa processing, training certification, etc.
  • Ensures open dialogue with Purser, Onboard Senior Staff and Corporate Managers to address all crew member requests and /or issues in timely manner.
  • Assists with special projects as needed as directed by the Human Resources Team
  • Maintain confidentiality with respect to all Human Resources matters.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of job related experience in Human Resources, especially in crew rotation within the cruise industry.
  • Cruise ship, hotel or airline scheduling experience preferred.
  • Self-directed strategic thinker with initiative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated professional verbal and written communication skills – strong customer service skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Experience with the Adonis HR system is preferred
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to remain controlled and effective during fast-paced, stressful situations.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks a must. 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, College degree preferred
