I have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join a leading ship management company, as a Public Health Specialist for their growing cruise division.

As a Public Health Specialist, you will be Coordinating the ship or shore-based operations to achieve the Company standards for Public Health in compliance with HACCP, EU-SHIPSAN, US Vessel Sanitation Program, local public health authorities and other applicable rules and regulations

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Public Health or equivalent and worked experience in the position of a Sanitation Officer / Public Health Officer, preferably on board a cruise vessel or in another hospitality setting.

Job Objective and Key Accountability

• You will regularly visit sites and conduct in-depth audits of public health compliance;
• You will be in charge of scheduling, conducting and documenting trainings for all locations to ensure knowledge of local health authority rules and regulations
• You will be in charge of documentation of Public Health procedures and trainings
• You will provide technical support in design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of hygiene and sanitation programs.
• You will ensure compliance of pest management systems.
• Monitoring Water Safety procedures for air conditioning, potable water and recreational water facilities;
• Maintaining and monitoring of the Outbreak Prevention and Response Plan.
• Ensuring and monitoring proper procedures for the use of chemicals on board or at shore-based locations and maintenance of MSDS;

  
Requirements - Education and Work Experience.
  

• A hospitality or health industry-related education.
• A degree in Public Health or equivalent;
• Expert knowledge of HACCP, US Vessel Sanitation Program, EU-SHIPSAN and Marpol regulations;
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken), German or other European language preferred
• Ability to travel to vessels up to 25% of the time.
