Reports to: On board Photo Manager
Term: 6 month contract

Tempest Photography is one of the largest photographic firms in the world. Employing over 400 photographers in the UK with an additional 300 members of staff located in our headquarters in St. Ives, Cornwall, where we operate one of Europe’s most technologically advanced photographic laboratories.
Having successfully set up photographic services on board two of the world’s most prestigious cruise lines – Cunard and P&O Cruises.

We are currently recruiting for on board photographers.

To be an on board photographer for Tempest you need to be proactive, approachable and friendly. With a passion for providing an outstanding guest experience you will have experience dealing with cruise passengers in a customer facing role. If you’re a natural people person with strong communication skills derived from a retail or hospitality background, this is the role for you.

You should have a keen interest in photography at a quality level and a strong understanding of, and ability to work with, the latest technology, we are looking for experienced photographers. As one of the leading photography companies in the world, we have the resources to equip the right people with the skills and techniques to create and capture stunning images. We’re looking for people with an innate ability for sales and customer interaction, that can work effectively and proactively as part of a team and independently and that have a passion for creating beautiful images and satisfied guests.

As an on board photographer you will be expected to perform the following duties:

• Correctly capture and tag visually stunning images of guests on board
• Proactively interact with guests to drive take-up (participation) and sales
• Work effectively as part of the photographic team – take part in shared responsibilities and to create a positive and professional team environment
• Assist guests with the image viewing, editing and purchasing process in the photo gallery
• Understand and embody the core brand pillars of Cunard and P&O and translate these into your behaviour and on board guest interactions
• Work with the on board Photo Manager to identify and develop new shoot locations, poses, props and sales opportunities to maximise on board revenue
The people we’re looking for will have:

• Previous ship experience
• An outgoing, positive attitude and the ability to proactively communicate with guests, fellow team members and management
• Excellent photographic skills or familiarisation with photography and its processes with a passion to learn more
• Knowledge of all retail and services we provide and ability to upgrade sales
• Language skills – fluent spoken and written English is required but an additional language is hugely beneficial
• The ability to work closely within a team and to share living space with a team member
• The ability to Work 7 days a week
• The ability to set up and break down and transport equipment that can be heavy
• A C1/D Visa seaman’s Visa. (cost will be reimbursed)
• A Clean police record (DBS Check)
