MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist the Entertainment Technical Manager with operating equipment for the daytime and evening’s Entertainment.
• Maintain strict safety standards, facilitate requests and ensure the lighting boards and sound desks are fully maintained.
• Monitor mixing (stage and in‐ear) for singers, musicians, dancers and technicians.
• Use wireless (handheld and belt pack/headset) and corded microphones when required.
• Fill out the sound technical reports detailing any new or outstanding problems relating to sound systems around the ship.
• Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all Entertainment technical sound systems and/or lighting systems in the main theatre and around the ship, perform troubleshooting and equipment/speaker replacement as needed.
• Inspect all lighting equipment and track inventory in order to ensure that all supplies and equipment are available for each show.
• Operate the main theatre lighting and laser systems, atmospheric and pyrotechnic effects for all shows and activities.
• Inspect lighting systems periodically and perform regular cleaning and maintenance to ensure proper functioning.
• Assist with additional multiple show setups, rehearsals and tech runs during cast change.
• Ensure proper and thorough training on all job‐related aspects to the incoming replacement technician during the handover period.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES:
• Perform theatre general cleaning and repairs, in addition to sound and lighting maintenance.
• Attend any safety, hospitality or job‐related training as required and scheduled by the ship’s command or immediate supervisors, including port‐manning rotation.
• Demonstrate the Saga Values.
• Provide Exceptional Experiences every day for Guests and Colleagues

 

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Previous experience within a similar sound role and/or lighting role onboard a Cruise ship or 4/5 star hotel/resort.
• Good knowledge of professional sound equipment operation and maintenance procedures
• Basic knowledge in PC hardware and software maintenance
• Basic knowledge of lighting design and programming
• Good troubleshooting skills
• Passionate about people and able to handle guest complaints with a smile.
• All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position.
• Good command of the English Language
