Senior Fitter

We are seeking an experienced Senior Fitter to join the Engine Department on board a passenger vessel (company and ship name withheld).

 Salary: USD 2,996 per month paid 12 months per year (leave pay at the end of contract)
 Leave Ratio: 3 months on / 1 month off
Location: Shipboard – worldwide operations

 Key Responsibilities:

Report directly to the 1st Engineer on daily tasks and progress.

Carry out maintenance and repairs, including machining and welding, mainly in the machinery spaces but also throughout the vessel if required.

Work on main propulsion machinery under the supervision of the 1st Engineer.

Take charge of the Engine Workshop, ensuring safe working practices, cleanliness, and equipment readiness.

Maintain control of tools, consumables, and stock levels, reporting deficiencies promptly.

Support the 1st Engineer/Staff Chief Engineer with requisitions, assessments, and training of other Fitters.

Assist in hands-on training for junior ranks when necessary.

Work alongside other technical and non-technical staff, ensuring professionalism and courtesy in passenger areas.

Requirements:

Basic Safety Training (STCW)

STCW Seafarer Medical Certificate

Yellow Fever vaccination

Strong background in engine fitting, workshop management, and vessel maintenance
