Activity Host (Cruise Ship) / Passenger Entertainment Specialist / Entertainment Ambassador

Position Overview

Responsible for creating a lively, welcoming, and entertaining atmosphere for guests onboard. Duties include organizing, executing, and hosting a wide range of daytime and evening activities that enhance the cruise experience. As the face of onboard entertainment, the Activity Host ensures guests feel engaged, excited, and entertained throughout their journey.

Key Responsibilities

Entertainment & Hosting:

• Lead and host various daily activities such as quizzes, karaoke, dance classes, sun deck games, tournaments, arts & crafts, and social gatherings.
• Interact with guests in a friendly, approachable, and professional manner to ensure everyone feels comfortable and included.
• Host events, themed nights, game shows, board games, talent shows or special occasions.
• Guest Interaction
• Build positive relationships with passengers of all ages and backgrounds to encourage participation and create a pleasant atmosphere.
• Provide information about entertainment programs and promote upcoming onboard events

Collaboration:

• Work closely with the Cruise Director to ensure a consistent and high-quality entertainment program.
• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Food & Beverage, Shore Excursions, Hotel) to support themed activities or special events.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience in entertainment, hospitality, or guest services.
• River cruise experience is a plus.
• Outgoing, energetic personality with strong presentation and hosting skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities; capable of engaging with diverse guests.
• Ability to lead group activities, games, and events with enthusiasm and professionalism.
• Creative, flexible, and solution-oriented in fast-paced environments.
• Team player with willingness to adapt to varying work schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Fluent English and German required; additional languages are a plus.

This position is open to applicants from EU member states who do not require a work permit.
