Shop Manager – Cruise Ships

Location: Onboard international cruise ships
Contract Type: Fixed-term, 5 months (+/- 1 month)
Start Date: To be determined (after mandatory STCW training)
Salary: €2,773 gross per month + €1,350 monthly gross bonus
Accommodation & Meals: Single cabin and full board provided
Travel: Expenses covered by the employer (to and from the vessel)

About the Role

As a Shop Manager, you will be responsible for managing the onboard retail team and overseeing the daily operations of the shops and exhibition areas. You will lead a multicultural team, ensure sales and service targets are met, and guarantee that the highest standards of customer experience, merchandising, and compliance are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the retail team and overall shop operations

Achieve sales and service goals, delivering excellent guest experience

Ensure merchandising and marketing standards are maintained

Coordinate loading, unloading, and stock replenishment

Build strong guest relationships and collaborate with onboard and shore-based teams

Lead, train, and develop retail staff (attendants, specialists, supervisors)

Prepare sales reports, voyage summaries, and guest feedback analyses

Ensure compliance with customs regulations and company policies

Requirements

Proven experience in retail management and team leadership

Customer-focused mindset with strong sales and service orientation

Knowledge of sales techniques and visual merchandising

Strong organizational, problem-solving, and goal-oriented skills

Excellent leadership and communication abilities in multicultural settings

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems

English fluency (minimum B2)

Proficiency in one additional European language (Italian, French, German, or Spanish) at B2 level

Availability to live and work onboard for 5 months

Willingness to complete the mandatory STCW safety training (approx. 10 days, in passport country)

Base Salary: €2,773 gross/month

Working Hours: 7 days per week, 8–11 hours daily (split into 2–3 shifts)

Contract Duration: 5 months (+/- 1 month)
