Senior Fitter

We are seeking an experienced Senior Fitter to join the Engine Department on board a passenger vessel

Salary: USD 2,996 per month
Leave Ratio: 3 months on / 1 month off  (Every 3 days worked you will earn 1 day holiday pay)
Location: Shipboard – worldwide operations

Key Responsibilities:

• Report directly to the 1st Engineer on daily tasks and progress.
• Carry out maintenance and repairs, including machining and welding, mainly in the machinery spaces but also throughout the vessel if required.
• Work on main propulsion machinery under the supervision of the 1st Engineer.
• Take charge of the Engine Workshop, ensuring safe working practices, cleanliness, and equipment readiness.
• Maintain control of tools, consumables, and stock levels, reporting deficiencies promptly.
• Support the 1st Engineer/Staff Chief Engineer with requisitions, assessments, and training of other Fitters.
• Assist in hands-on training for junior ranks when necessary.
• Work alongside other technical and non-technical staff, ensuring professionalism and courtesy in passenger areas.

Requirements:

• Basic Safety Training (STCW)
• STCW Seafarer Medical Certificate
• Yellow Fever vaccination
• Strong background in engine fitting, workshop management, and vessel maintenance
