Job Title: Shop Manager – International Cruise Ship

Location: Onboard international cruise ships (various global destinations)
Contract Type: Fixed-term (approx. 5 months ±1 month)
Start Date: To be determined (after completing mandatory STCW training)
Working Hours: 7 days a week, 8–11 hours/day, split into 2–3 shifts
Accommodation: Single cabin, full board provided

Role Overview

As a Shop Manager, you will oversee the onboard retail operations, manage a multicultural retail team, and ensure a high-quality shopping experience for guests. This role combines leadership, sales strategy, and operational management in a unique international environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate the onboard retail team, including attendants, specialists, and supervisors
  • Achieve sales and service targets while maintaining high customer satisfaction
  • Ensure visual merchandising and marketing standards are upheld
  • Coordinate loading/unloading operations and stock replenishment
  • Build strong relationships with guests and collaborate with onboard and shore-based teams
  • Lead, train, and develop a multicultural retail team
  • Prepare and submit sales reports, voyage summaries, and guest feedback analysis
  • Ensure compliance with international customs regulations and onboard rules

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a dynamic retail environment and team leadership
  • Some prior cruise ship experience is required
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong sales and service skills
  • Solid skills in sales techniques and visual merchandising
  • Strong organizational skills, accountability, and goal orientation
  • Excellent leadership and multicultural communication abilities
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a drive to enhance guest experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • English fluency (B2 level)
  • Proficiency in at least one additional European language (Italian, French, German, or Spanish, B2 level)
  • Availability to live and work onboard for the full contract period
  • Willingness to complete mandatory STCW safety training (~10 days in passport country)
