International Host / Hostess (English & German - speaking)

Main Function

To assist the Cruise Director and Entertainment team in providing multilingual information, translations, and cultural support to Guests from around the world. The International Host/Hostess ensures that every Guest — regardless of nationality — feels welcome, informed, and included in the onboard entertainment experience.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English and at least two additional major languages (preferably German, Italian, Spanish, French, or Portuguese).
• Previous experience in tourism, hospitality, or onboard entertainment roles is required.
• Excellent public speaking and microphone skills — confident, clear, and engaging.
• Strong communication abilities and a friendly, approachable personality.
• Computer literacy (Windows-based systems).
• Valid STCW Basic Safety Training certificates and medical fitness according to international maritime regulations.
• High school graduate or higher education in communication, languages, or hospitality preferred.

Main Responsibilities

• Act as the main multilingual point of contact for Guests, offering translations and assistance during shows, activities, and announcements.
• Collaborate closely with the Cruise Director, Assistant Cruise Director, and Entertainment Team to deliver engaging programs and social events.
• Translate daily programs, announcements, and special event information into the relevant languages.
• Make public announcements confidently and professionally through the ship’s PA system.
• Participate in and host social events, theme nights, and games to create a lively onboard atmosphere.
• Provide information and assistance regarding entertainment schedules, events, and excursions when required.
• Assist during embarkation, disembarkation, and emergency drills as a language liaison.
• Maintain high standards of hospitality and ensure that Guests from different cultures feel included in all activities.
• Uphold MSC Cruises’ image of elegance, energy, and inclusiveness.
