Camp Counselor

Camp Counselors create safe, fun, and age-appropriate activities for children up to 12 years old. They help make every child’s vacation exciting and memorable.

Responsibilities

• Be friendly, caring, and positive with kids and parents.
• Supervise children and keep them safe during activities.
• Keep play areas clean and organized.
• Assist with children’s hygiene needs (diapering, handwashing, etc.).
• Complete training and follow all Carnival rules and safety policies.
• Help with waterslide operations and other scheduled activities (meals, shows, holiday events, etc.).
• Report incidents to the Youth Director.
• Manage camp supplies and keep track of inventory.
• Follow uniform and hygiene standards.
• Be willing to step in as an Animator/Character performer if needed.
• Perform CPR and First Aid when required.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years or older.
• At least 2 years of experience working with children.
• Education or certification in childcare, education, psychology, or related fields preferred.

Experience

• Working in childcare or youth programs.
• Leading groups of children (sports, camps, after-school programs).
• Creative or artistic background is a plus.

Additional Requirements

• Comfortable working with children ages 2–11
• Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing).
• Outgoing, energetic, and able to lead large groups.
• Strong hospitality and guest service skills.
• Valid CPR and First Aid certification.
