The Guest Accounts Purser is a key member of our team, responsible for ensuring accurate onboard accounting and capturing, calculating, recording, and reporting all onboard guest charges. The successful candidate will be responsible for balancing the daily and end-of-voyage revenue activity from various revenue-generating areas onboard. Additionally, the Guest Accounts Purser will monitor the ship's main safe transactions, control the cash float onboard, and provide cash advances for outport purchases. The candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of our operations and providing excellent service to our guests. 

Key Responsibilities

• Record and report all onboard guest charges accurately.
• Authorize and settle credit card transactions and ensure proper documentation.
• Monitor declined credit cards and assist guests in setting up alternative payment methods.
• Process and balance all onboard credits.
• Ensure all Points of Sale are balanced, including: MXPoS, Seacare, iCafe, and MXP Tours. 
• Apply and balance all MXP Prepaid Shorex Refunds in Fidelio.
• Monitor the main safe onboard and maintain control of cash floats.
• Monitor system accounts to ensure proper usage.
• Collect charges from senior management if they exceed their company bar allowance and document appropriately in the Bar Allowance Tracking worksheet.
• Activate VAT/Tax cruises in MXPoS and provide revenue reports, close checks reports, and tax reports accordingly.
• Provide cash advance for outport purchases.
• Follow up with Guest Relations Team to ensure all inquiries or missing shipboard credit and gratuities are resolved.
• Troubleshoot, replenish, and balance ATMs.
• Administer foreign exchange transactions, cash orders, and offloads as needed.
• Prepare concessions settlements at the end of the voyage.
• Prepare and submit Cruise End Reports in a timely manner.
• Provide the Guest Relations Officers and the Payroll Purser with cash floats.
• Conduct cash float and inventory audits.
• Train, coach, and support Guest Relation Officers on all financial matters.
• Update MXP C&R budget workbooks with actuals. 
• Maintain company property properly and with respect.
• Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.

Education/Experience/Qualifications:

• Previous experience in financial leadership positions in the cruise industry and shipboard operations. 
• Previous experience as Crew Purser/Payroll Accountant is a must. 
• Expertise in shipboard systems, including Fidelio SPMS, MXP products, credit card processing, cash handling, and concessionaire settlements.
