Duties include (but are not limited to):
1. Reports directly to the Captain onboard with a secondary reporting line to the CO-E ashore.
2. Checks, monitors, and supports the shipboard Environmental Compliance.
3. Follows and promotes Carnival Corporations Vision, Mission, Purpose, Culture Essentials, and Company Priorities.
4. Regularly checks that the ship fully complies with the procedures of Global HESS-MS.
5. Has unrestricted access to all areas onboard in accordance with ENV-1008.
6. Carries out his activities according to the ENV-1008, among this, on a constant basis:
7. Reports about environmental management and performance on board.
8. Gives his assistance to internal and external auditors during environmental audits.
9. Gives his support to all crewmembers in finding a solution to environmental related problems.
10. Verifies that all types of waste, may they be liquid or solid, are properly segregated, managed, and labelled until their landing, according to applicable laws and company procedures.
11. Ensures that all waste off-load documentation is correct and maintained onboard as per requirements.
12. Conducts regular rounds, including Engine Spaces, Garbage Handling and Food preparation areas.
13. Is responsible to periodically check environmentally relevant Logbooks to guarantee their compliance, in accordance with ENV-1008.
14. Ensure compliance and carries out Environmental trainings where applicable, according to Company procedures. This may include training new hired Environmental Officers.
15. Is responsible for verification and maintaining (where applicable) correct records of all environmental training.
16. Takes part in regular meetings in presence of the Captain and/or the other Heads of Department to discuss environmental issues, best practices or areas of concern.
17. Oversees the correct sampling of waste waters and other types of waste according to the agreed sampling protocols or as required. He is also responsible to archive and distribute onboard the sampling results received from the shore side offices.
18. Checks that the Captain and CO-E are properly informed about environmental incidents and that all incidents are promptly notified to shore side offices and relevant authorities (local, state, federal, international) as applicable and as instructed.
19. Submits reports on Environmental incidents and checks the correct follow-up and update of environmental incident reports as managed in SeaEvent.
20. Is the appointed liaison between the ship and shore side offices for all environmental related issues. Promptly assists CO-E and the Environmental Department with answering inquiries when required.
21. Is responsible to send to the relevant shore side office the monthly environmental data according to the agreed procedure and timing.
22. Assists the Captain to answer questions or complaints from guests or crewmembers about alleged environmental misbehaviours.
23. Is responsible to monitor the follow up on environmental findings, corrective/preventative actions identified during environmental incidents and audits, as well as submission of the Environmental Officer Periodic Report.
24. Is responsible to keep ship specific environmental documentation up to date.
25. Supports all departments onboard with the promotion of a sound environmental compliance culture, the achievement of environmental objectives and the fulfilment of the company’s sustainability goals.
26. Verifies correct retention of routine visual inspection and dry dock inspection records.
27. Collaboration with the Fleet Environmental Officer Program.
Safety Duties:
28. Facilitate a work environment that supports a successful Safety Culture. Oversight and monitoring on the effective implementation of the HESS management system.
29. Enforce and promote Safety procedures.

Work Experience Requirements
All applicants must have previous experience in working on a Cruise Ship.
Language Requirements
Good knowledge of the English language is required.
