Housekeeping Steward/ess

As Steward, you have an all-round position and will be assigned in rotation to one of the hotel departments. You ensure satisfaction of every individual guest. You maintain a safe and sanitary work environment to ensure good quality at all times.

General duties and responsibilities:

• Always respond to guest requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
• Assist with set-up for special events and functions as instructed by supervisor
• Assist with provision loading and luggage operation
• Attend various training session organized by direct supervisors and the head of department
• Be informed of SMS manual and other company related publications
• Report incidents, near misses, and/or dangerous situations to the Safety Committee
• Participate in safety and security drillsDaily cleaning of guest cabins according to cleaning plan
• Daily cleaning of public areas (bar, toilets, corridors, and reception)
• Cleaning of officers and staff cabins
• Assist with dishwashing in the bar and galley
• Support laundry steward
• Service crew mess room

Prerequisites:
• Good command of both spoken and written English
• Should have a pleasing personality and professional appearance
• Excellent guest service skill
• Good knowledge of food and beverage service
• Able to work in a multicultural environment
• Hands-on approach to all operational aspects

Experience:
1-2 years of work experience in a similar role, along with 1 year shipboard experience as an advantage.

Required certificates (originals required):
❑ Medical certificate
❑ Safety training for personnel providing direct service to passengers in passenger spaces A-V/2.2
❑ Basic Safety Training A-VI/1
❑ Security training for seafarers with designated security duties: A-VI/6-2

Conditions offered:
