Reporting to: Cruise Director

As the Cruise Experience Host you will support the Cruise Director and in the delivery of the programme during the cruise, going the extra mile to put our guests first.

With a proactive mindset, you are responsible for assisting the Cruise Director in the attention to detail to ensure the smooth running of our operations. You will work collaboratively with Live Business and your colleagues, the rest of the team on board and our suppliers promoting a ‘one team’ environment for our guests

You will be dedicated to delivering an exceptional experience for our guests, which will be measured in the end of cruise guest survey scores, and you will strive to achieve the targets set out by the business, specifically the tNPS.

As the ultimate host you will have extensive product knowledge about the cruises you will be working on and have clear understanding of who the guest is and their expectations. You will have a genuine interest in others enabling you to tailor your approach to identify our guests needs, always working to exceed their expectations.

You will consistently portray a positive and professional image, confident that your unique qualities are valued. You are an advocate for our organisation and look for new and better ways to collaborate with colleagues and suppliers to drive excellence in the delivery of the product. You are always professional in both your appearance and behaviour, taking pride in representing the brand.

With a thorough knowledge of the itinerary, destination and experiences offered, you make travel personal and enable the guests to maximise their enjoyment at each place visited by showcasing the destination and bringing it to life. You will always have at the forefront of your mind that this is our guests holiday and they chose to spend it with us.

 MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES include, but are not limited to, the following:

• You will host activities and events and act as a brand ambassador onboard – delivering the guest experience, supporting customer flow and programme delivery

• You will perform a selection of solo cabaret sets in the evening, delivering a repertoire of varied genres and decades
• You will work towards and achieve a minimum target of 65 tNPS for each cruise and achieve the end of year target tNPS set by the business
• The PRing of guests forms an important part of your role to ensure they feel welcome and comfortable onboard.
• Ensuring all the relevant equipment is maintained for the onboard activities
• Assisting and providing full support with guest illness, accident, death, repatriation and liaise with insurance company and head office.
• Assisting the Cruise Director with relevant administration work, ie cruise planners, excursion lists and daily programmes etc.
• Assisting the transfer team to meet all guests at upon arrival into the country of their cruise and ensure their smooth transfer to and from the ship
• Adhering to all policies, procedures and guidelines as directed by your manager and in the Manual.


SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Previous experience in a management position within entertainment and/or hospitality industry
• Experience and knowledge of River Cruise operations preferable
• Experience in presenting and hosting to various audience demographics
• Experience in delivering solo cabaret sets, delivering a repertoire of varied genres and decades to engage the guest
• Ability to ‘read the room’
• Proven people skills along with complaint handling, conflict resolution, counselling, mediating and motivational skills.
• Effective communication skills, fluent in written and spoken English
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Proficient in core IT systems and programmes, such as Microsoft Excel, word and Teams
