V.Ships Leisure is looking for Broadcast Manager on behalf of Silver Cruises.
Responsible to control, maintain and operate ship broadcast facilities including all TV, music & LES broadcasting system, ensuring all guests and crew receive and view quality programming and music whilst complying with any company policies, broadcasting licenses and laws. Operating all sound and light functions for all Entertainment & Enrichment events.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains satellite and streaming TV reception for broadcast via the ships TV system.
- Operates, understands and tunes both TVRO and equipment associated with it.
- Operates all sound and lighting equipment for all entertainment events including cocktail parities.
- Maintains video and audio programming schedules for guest in-suite entertainment.
- Maintenance and repairs of onboard ITV systems and TVs.
- Uploads / download movies & programs content to TV servers, per directions from Entertainment Management.
- Manages live broadcasts, records lectures, port talks, cooking demos. Edits contend as needed.
- Operates video cameras, editing suite, and replay equipment.
- Oversees live broadcasts, records lectures, port talks, cooking demos and Expedition programs.
- Proactively monitors the health of all BGM / LES and TV Broadcasting network systems and applications on a daily basis to ensure maximum up time.
- Manages the broadcast equipment, software and content onboard. Ensures that the equipment is maintained, and content is up to date. Maintains SAT TV reception, live broadcasts, BGM (Back Ground Music) and digital signage.
- Monitoring of Emergency PA speakers during drills and other times when utilized to ensure all speakers work correctly. Deficiencies to be reported to the Electrical department.
- Maintains background music servers ensuring the correct music is available on the ship-wide Radiopark systems with the assistance of the Expedition Activities Host over policy. Performs daily spot checks and trains all whom needs to operate in the F&B department.
- Maintains and repairs any broadcast equipment including music distribution units and Entertainment Lights and Sound system.
- Maintains and repairs ships LES broadcast BGM system including local speakers and amps.
- Oversees physical inventories and executes inventory spot checks as per inventory schedule. Strives to minimize inventory levels while ensuring sufficient stock levels to operate the department smoothly. Consistently works towards minimizing waste, breakage wear and tear.
- Works with Marine Storekeeper to maintain inventory supplies, spare parts and equipment for the broadcast center, TV, Pager, BGM system.
- Oversees maintenance and repairs of all broadcast, recording and projecting technical equipment for the entertainment department.
- Maintains and repairs ships LES broadcast BGM system including local speakers and amps.
- Liaises to IT Comms Officer regarding IT issues on Broadcast system.
- Ensures that all kinds of entertainment content is uploaded on time and returned to the vendors as per schedule.
- Assists guests, crew and hotel department with any operational issues on in-suite TVs and trouble shooting based on non functioning in-suite TVs.
- Maintenance and repairs of onboard TVs.
- Maintains basic telephone repairs, safes and pager systems.
- Ensures that the entertainment cameras are well maintained and cleaned.
- Incorporates company service standards, personalized service and sincere hospitality by creating positive experiences for guests, efficiently engaging with guests and anticipating guest needs.
- Ensures that the broadcast center, sound and light booth plus backstage is kept clean and well organized.
- Maintains the broadcast center and ensures that all equipment is locked up when not in use.
- Assists with induction and training of new crew.
- Prepares set up of entertainment light and sound system plus musical equipment.
- Maintains and repairs any entertainment equipment, musical equipment, video, and broadcast equipment including music distribution units.
- Performs all other duties as requested by supervisor.
- Submits end of cruise report to Expedition Activities Host (Ship) and Entertainment Technical Manager ( Shoreside).
Education/Experience/Qualifications:
- Valid STCW certification.
- 3-5 years experience in broadcast TV programming, with some entertainment technical support experience.
- Strong knowledge of Satellite TV operation including TVROs.
- Experience in Running Sound and Lighting for live events.
- Understanding of musical equipment set ups.
- Good working knowledge of broadcast equipment, Autopatch Matrix, DMX music servers and AMX control systems.
- Basic knowledge in editing software, Mac IMovie and final cut, HD camcorders and wireless microphones.
- Basic knowledge of entertainment show formats and procedures.
- Physically and medically fit.
- Moral integrity is required.
- Excellent fluent English (verbal and written). English is the working and safety language on board Silversea vessels. This also includes the ability to give and receive instructions in verbal and written forms and to effectively and efficiently engage with guests and crew members.
- Basic knowledge of Windows and Mac applications.
