Where passion meets opportunity

The best of your adventures is the one you have yet to sail!

Your Purpose

The Marine Guest Engagement Officer plays a key role in supporting the coral reefs restoration program by raising awareness amongst guests and visitors, building capacity through student training, and actively contributing to the foundation work in Ocean Cay, The Bahamas.

Your Impact

The Super Coral Reefs Program

The program encompasses three main components:

Restoration & Science

Based at our Marine Conservation Centre, we are developing scalable, innovative methods for coral reef conservation and restoration aimed at strengthening the resilience of marine ecosystems. Sharing our findings through scientific publications, workshops, and collaboration with a global conservation network, we aim to amplify impact in The Bahamas and beyond.

Capacity Building

Partnering with Bahamian and international scientists and academics, we are contributing to the development of future generations of marine conservationists and practitioner and ecotourism professionals. This includes offering high-quality hands-on training opportunities and supporting world-class research and scientific initiatives focused on marine ecosystem conservation, resilience and management.

Public Engagement

Increasing public awareness about the critical importance of coral reefs and the growing threats they face around the world, guiding visitors to explore engaging exhibits, see our work firsthand and take part in interactive discovery activities, deepening their understanding of marine ecosystems and how they can contribute to conservation efforts.

Your Journey so far

Under the supervision of the Marine Program Manager, the Guest Engagement Officer will:

1. Public Engagement

  • Design and deliver engaging presentations, workshops, and guided tours tailored to a range of guests including families, divers, and eco-tourists.

  • Create and update educational materials such as brochures, posters, and digital content to raise awareness about coral reefs, marine biodiversity, and the Super Coral Reef Program.

  • Organize and manage events or campaigns related to the foundation’s work in The Bahamas (e.g., World Oceans Day, Earth Day).

  • Maintain a visible presence at guest touchpoints, acting as the “marine ambassador” of the property.

2. Capacity Building & Intern Training

  • Develop and deliver structured training modules covering environmental communication and guest engagement activities.

  • Provide regular feedback and evaluation for each intern’s performance and progress engaged in conducting guests/visitors engagement activities in and around the MCC.

  • Provide logistical support (accommodation booking, transfer arrangements, site orientation) for interns, students, and Ocean Cay visitors involved in SCRP-related activities.

3. Marine Conservation Center

  • Ensure that the Marine Conservation Centre is clean, organized, and presentable daily, creating a welcoming and professional environment for visitors, interns, and partners.

  • Liaise with concerned parties for the replacement of equipment or materials, repair, maintenance and renovation (when applicable) of the facilities integrated in the MCC in coordination with the Marine Ops Officer-s. Particular attention is to be given to the common areas, the welcome pavilion, the interactive pavilion and the lecture hall.
