Location: Onboard international cruise ships (global itineraries)
Contract Type: Fixed-term maritime contract
Contract Duration: Approximately 5 months (+/- 1 month)
Working Schedule: 7 days per week, 8–11 hours per day in 2–3 shifts
Accommodation: Shared cabin (2 people)
Start Date: Upon completion of onboarding documentation and mandatory training

Job Description

The Jewellery Specialist is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving sales within the onboard jewellery boutique. Working in a refined retail environment, you will present and sell a curated selection of fine jewellery and luxury accessories while providing guests with expert guidance and personalized service.

This role requires strong product knowledge, a passion for luxury retail, and the ability to create meaningful connections with guests while maintaining high presentation standards in the boutique.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Guest Experience

  • Deliver outstanding service and create memorable luxury shopping experiences
  • Present and sell fine jewellery collections and luxury accessories
  • Guide guests through product features, materials, craftsmanship, and brand stories
  • Build strong relationships with guests by understanding their preferences and style
  • Achieve or exceed personal sales targets and contribute to boutique performance
  • Respond promptly to guest questions, requests, and feedback

Retail Operations

  • Maintain excellent visual merchandising standards within the jewellery boutique
  • Ensure displays are always organized, attractive, and aligned with brand guidelines
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with product replenishment when needed
  • Perform daily opening and closing procedures, including point-of-sale audits
  • Support inventory control and stock count activities

Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the retail team to support overall store performance
  • Assist in other retail areas when required
  • Participate in cross-training across onboard retail operations

Brand Representation

  • Represent the onboard jewellery boutique professionally and build trust with guests
  • Provide accurate and knowledgeable information about jewellery products
  • Participate in company and cruise line training programs to stay updated on products and sales techniques

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in retail or hospitality
  • Experience in jewellery, watches, luxury accessories, or premium retail is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to drive sales through customer relationship building
  • Strong interest in luxury products and jewellery craftsmanship
  • Minimum high school diploma (studies in retail, fashion, or hospitality are an advantage)
  • Previous shipboard experience is considered a strong asset

Languages:

  • Native language
  • English (minimum B2)

Mandatory Training Requirement

Before joining the ship, candidates must complete STCW maritime safety training (approximately 10 days).
This course must be completed in the same country as the candidate’s passport and is reimbursed after the first contract.
