YOUR ROLE:
The Cruise Director has overall responsibility for delivery and management for all Entertainment functions and programme onboard and delivering an exceptional product to our Guests.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversees the assignment of duties, responsibilities and schedules of staff and activities.
• Oversees all entertainment presentations, entertainment activities and quality in all venues.
• Serves as Master of Ceremonies for shows and events presented by the Entertainment department as required.
• Works collaboratively with other Hotel Officers to maintain quality and maximise profit.
• Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely administration and reporting for the Entertainment department.
• Provides the Communications Purser with information for the Today programme.
• Provide support to the Explore Ashore Manager on dispatch of excursions.
• Responsible for delivering on Entertainment equipment and consumables budgets.
• Frequently engages with Entertainment Manager ashore and provides novel ideas to increase profit and Guest satisfaction.
• Responsible for investigating and resolving entertainment quality and service complaints in a timely fashion and notifies Hotel General Manager of such.
• Mentors, develops and provides on-the-job training to entertainment team.
• Maintains positive relations with all Guests and ensures interaction at every opportunity.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare appraisals for individuals under their remit in accordance with policies.
• Attends guest functions as required by Head of Department.
• Partake in inspections, trainings and meetings as required by Head of Department.
• Ensures that the set standards are kept, and staff members work according to their respective job descriptions.
• Lead and Motivate using the Saga Leadership Model.
• Demonstrate the Saga Values.
• Provide Exceptional Experiences every day for Guests and Colleagues

 

SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Previous experience as Cruise Director/Entertainment Manager onboard a Cruise Ship.
• Proven people skills along with conflict resolution, counselling, mediating and motivational skills.
• All certificates as required by the STCW code for this position.
• Good command of the English Language
