Responsibilities
As a Waiter, you will provide friendly and professional service to the guests in the restaurant/s and buffet area, anticipating and fulfilling their needs.
Essential Functions:
• You must be knowledgeable about all the menu items and ingredients and be able to describe them to the guests.
• Ensure guests are completely satisfied with the food and service and report to the Assistant Restaurant Manager any special requests or complaints made by the guests.
• Report for duty at assigned times following supervisor’s instructions according to company policies.
• Perform any additional duties required by the Restaurant Manager’s schedule.
• Responsible for keeping working section clean and tidy following the United States Public
Health rules and regulations.
• Must have the physical ability to carry 12 covers (15-20 Kg.; approximately 44 pounds).
• Strive to exceed guest satisfaction.
• Maintain a good working relationship and open communication with the team.
• Aware of, and/or acquires the necessary knowledge to comply with the ship’s standard operation, to assist guests and crew with inquiries.
• Attend meetings, training activities, courses and all other work-related activities as required.

Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.
Qualifications:
• Completion of high school or basic education equivalency required.
Experience:
• Please note that prior shipboard experience is required for this position. Candidates must hold a valid STCW, medical certificate, passport, and visa. Additionally, a minimum of 3 appraisals is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Ability to analyze and interpret documents such as recipes and manuals.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, tips, proportions and percentages.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Passionate about hospitality.
• Must have a professional appearance and good hygiene.
• Respect for all co-workers and guests.
• Pride in your work demonstrated by creating positive energy, excitement and fun.
• Able to work 7 days a week.
• Demonstrate positive behaviors, smiling, being polite and courteous.
• Able to develop a camaraderie with team members.
• Ability to live in close quarters, share limited space with other cabin-mates.
• Work within different temperature changes—indoors to outdoors.
• Able to pass basic safety course.
Language Requirements:
• Ability to speak English clearly, distinctly and cordially with guests and crew.
• Ability to understand instructions given in English during emergency life saving procedures and drills.
• Ability to read and write English in order to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms and to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, supervisors and co-workers.
• Ability to speak additional languages such as Spanish, French or German preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• All shipboard employees must be physically able to participate in emergency life saving procedures and drills. Full use and range of arms and legs as well as full visual, verbal and hearing abilities are required to receive and give instructions in the event of an emergency including the lowering of lifeboats.
