Your Impact
Your expertise will shape the onboard sushi experience, ensuring that every dish meets the highest standards of taste, presentation, and safety. With precision and creativity, you will prepare sushi and Japanese specialties following company recipes and strict food safety procedures. Under the guidance of the Chef De Partie, you will support the supervision of food preparation, mentoring junior kitchen staff to maintain consistency and excellence. Your commitment to impeccable hygiene and sanitation will uphold the highest quality standards, while your culinary craftsmanship will elevate guests’ dining experiences with visually stunning and flavorful sushi creations. In a dynamic, fast-paced kitchen, you will collaborate seamlessly with your team, adapting to the demands of a high-volume service environment with efficiency and professionalism.
Your Journey So Far
To be successful in this role, you have:
Proven experience as a Sushi Demi Chef De Partie or in a similar position aboard a cruise ship, international 5-star hotel, or luxury resort.
Strong knowledge of traditional Japanese cuisine, including sushi preparation, rice cooking, and fish handling techniques.
A solid understanding of international food safety and sanitation standards.
The ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Experience working collaboratively within a diverse culinary team.
Your Essentials
To join our team, you must have:
A formal culinary qualification or relevant certification in Japanese cuisine.
Fluency in English (oral and written) to communicate effectively in a multicultural environment.
A deep understanding of sushi preparation, knife skills, and food safety practices.
A proactive, detail-oriented approach with a passion for delivering excellence in every dish.
The flexibility and adaptability to work onboard a cruise ship for extended contracts.
