Commis I Baker

Your Purpose

As a Commis I Baker with our cruise line, you will play a key role in creating delicious and high-quality bakery items that delight our guests. You will be responsible for assisting the Bakery team in the preparation of various baked goods, including breads, pastries, and desserts, ensuring they meet our rigorous standards. You will adhere to all health, safety, and food preparation protocols, and collaborate with other departments to maintain a seamless dining experience for passengers onboard.

Your Journey So Far

We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria: 

Experience: proven experience in the same position or a similar position, either aboard a cruise ship or in a major hotel operating under International Food Safety Standards. 

Skills Acquired: Through your experience, you have gained practical knowledge of: 

Baking techniques 

Ingredient handling 

Kitchen procedures 

Work Environment: You understand the importance of working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. 

Quality & Consistency: You have developed the skills necessary to ensure the quality and consistency of bakery products. 

Continuous Improvement: Your dedication to continuous improvement has made you a reliable and skilled member of any team you've been a part of. 

Your Essentials

Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in baking or culinary arts. 

Experience: Proven (by documentation) experience in the same position or a similar position in the cruise ship or hospitality industry , adhering to International Food Safety Standards. 

Language Skills: Fluent in English (both oral and written). 

Skills: Strong understanding of bakery preparation techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen hygiene. Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a team environment. 

Additional Requirements: Knowledge of international food safety standards and procedures is essential. Ability to follow recipes precisely and maintain high standards in a frenetic kitchen setting.
