As a Commis II Pastry, you will work under the guidance of the Executive Pastry Chef and your Seniors, ensuring all pastry items meet our highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. Your purpose is to support our pastry team in the preparation of a variety of sweet creations, such as cakes, pastries, breads, and desserts, contributing to an unforgettable culinary experience for guests onboard
Your Impact
Your work will have a direct impact on the guest experience onboard, ensuring that the pastry offerings reflect the excellence of our cruise line. By maintaining consistent quality, working efficiently within your team, and showcasing your creativity in the pastry kitchen, you will help create memorable moments for our guests. Your expertise and attention to detail will ensure that pastries are always fresh, visually stunning, and meticulously prepared. Through your efforts, you will contribute to the overall success of our dining services.
Your Journey So Far
To succeed in this role, you will need:
1. As a Commis II Pastry, you should have at least one or two years of experience in pastry production in a 5-star Hotel.
2. You must possess strong attention to detail.
3. The ability to follow instructions and recipes with precision is essential.
4. A desire to continuously learn and improve your skills is required.
5. Experience on a cruise ship will help you adapt quickly to the pace but it is not essential if have experience in a similar environment on land.
Your Essentials
To qualify in this role, you will need:
1. Previous experience in a pastry role, ideally in a similar cruise line or hospitality setting.
2. A basic understanding of pastry preparation and recipes, including the ability to create a variety of pastries, desserts, and cakes.
3. Strong knowledge of food safety standards and cleanliness protocols.
4. The ability to work efficiently and handle multiple tasks in a frenetic, high-pressure environment.
5. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to adapt to changing needs and situations.
6. The ability to work collaboratively within a team and take direction from senior chefs.
