Learning & Development Consultant (Cruise Ship)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Learning & Development Consultant to support the growth and performance of onboard teams. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor, partnering with leadership both onboard and shoreside to design and deliver impactful learning initiatives that drive business performance, enhance leadership effectiveness, and foster a strong culture of continuous development.

You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across global regions, influencing talent development strategies and supporting leaders in achieving operational excellence and high levels of employee and guest satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Provide professional consultation to onboard leaders to improve leadership effectiveness and operational performance
Conduct needs assessments to identify performance gaps and implement targeted development solutions
Support talent management processes, including performance evaluations, individual development plans, and succession planning
Facilitate engaging leadership training sessions and ensure effective knowledge transfer
Design and deliver customized learning programs aligned with business and behavioral needs
Lead “Train the Trainer” sessions and coach onboard facilitators to enhance training delivery
Conduct on-the-job observations and provide actionable feedback to leadership teams
Offer career coaching through workshops and one-on-one sessions
Utilize psychometric tools (e.g., DiSC) to strengthen leadership capability and team dynamics
Champion a culture of continuous learning aligned with organizational values and strategic goals

You will work closely with:

Shore-based teams: Learning & Organizational Development, Operational Leaders, Regional HR Partners, Talent Management
Onboard teams: Executive Committee and Departmental Leaders


Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Learning & Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
Minimum 5 years’ experience in HR with a focus on Learning & Organizational Development in hospitality, corporate, or similar environments
Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and experience in coaching, mentoring, and facilitation
Proven ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of an organization
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new systems


Language Requirements
Advanced English communication skills (spoken and written)
Confident presenting to groups of varying sizes
Strong written communication skills, including report writing and professional documentation
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the vessel for extended periods
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Full visual, hearing, and verbal abilities required for safety and emergency procedures
Must be able to participate in emergency drills and life-saving procedures


Additional Information
This role may require regular travel across the fleet
All duties must be performed in accordance with company safety, quality, and environmental standards
Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed by management
